 so i now how the permission to add sample cards for sets.  now my question is since i didnt see any guidlines. what is the best way to go about this. i just figured the first card added for the set should be the sample card. anyone else got another idea?  i plan on doing as many as i can  cause for some reason that has always been something that bothered me when looking at sets

I think a card that "represents" the set or what it is most famous for.  Usually, the most valued rookie card in the set.  Sometimes a famous (or infamous) error card; i.e., 1989 Fleer baseball Billy Ripken "error".  Many times I refer to certain sets by a rookie card contained within.  For example, I'll refer to the 1984 Topps Football set as "1984 Topps, the Marino rookie set".

 thats a good idea but when it comes to inserts  they dont always have all the cards available and thats mainly what im talking about inserts. i think ill just roll with the first card added. on a side note i dont have permission for main sets just inserts ?????

Yeah, I agree about the insert sets.  I'd like a picture, any picture, just so I know what the insert cards are supposed to look like.

 On base sets, I think the basic design should be pictured. It annoys me to no end that the sample card for 1985 Topps baseball is from the USA subset, even if it is the most famous card from the set.  When I'm choosing sample pictures for insert sets, I just try to mix up players and teams so every sample within a set isn't a Cub, or all Mike Trout. That's just personal preference though. I also try to make sure I pick a quality scan.
