Are the cards from the movie Mazes and Monsters starring Tom Hanks? If so, that would be an insanely deep cut of cards. I can't imagine they made cards of those, but if so that would be awesome.

Travis Wilson — minor league baseball player I went to high school with in Christchurch, New Zealand. Made it to AAA and just missed the Braves opening day roster one season. Still the closest NZ has come to a major league player.

Your album reminded me of an old newspaper story about former Cal basketball and football coach Nibs Price, who had died. The Oakland Tribune ran a story on their front page. The headline: Death calls Nibs Price.
Wouldn't you know it, but the photo had Price on the phone.

I looked through newspapers.com once and found the original clip.

Some people collect serial numbered cards that match the jersey of the player, example Miguel Cabrera's jersey number is 24 so they try to collect 24/### or 24/##. I like getting the first card in the serial number sequence...example: 001/### or 01/##. I don't hunt them down, but it's always a bonus if I find a player PC card that has the first serial number in the sequence. Yes, I have a few 1 of 1 numbered cards, but those are not what I am referring to.

Probably all of my person collection lol. I collect the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Most others who have them in their collection are because they collect Angels or Twins. I’m specifically collecting team sets and cards of players in a Cedar Rapids uniform. I’ve recently been collecting University of Iowa Hawkeyes cards all sports. Especially strips if they are still intact.

I don't find your collecting of the Rapids odd at all actually. I collect the Hudson Valley Renegades as they are 1.2 miles away by road (less than a mile direct from house to stadium entrance), even though they have never been affiliated with my major league team. (Starting in 1994, they were affiliated with the Rangers for 2 seasons, Rangers and Devil Rays for 2 years, Devil Rays / Rays alone until 2019, and since 2021, the Yankees). I've actually thought about stopping once they switched over after the off year, but then decided to continue.
Actually, I've seen so many different collections over the years, I don't really see anything as "odd" anymore and I think it's great when someone finds something that's different than the mainstream (mainstream - like what I mostly collect - sets, a certain team, stars, & HOFers). I constantly think of "What different thing can I collect?", and then I look at what I'm currently collecting and say "I'm already collecting enough stuff, I don't need another thing to collect." :)

-- Dan -- Note: Please see my profile for more info regarding trading (section updated 10/25/2023). I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned off (details are in my profile). I have (finally) unearthed my 2 very large boxes of Star Company minor league sets and they are available (email for details).
