Apologies if addressed already but I am trying to post (again) as I just listed it under Site Forum bc I don't know where to add these specific questions about a full set (Inserts & Parallels) of possibly incorrectly uploaded Topps checklist today.
That said, Walgreens has always been one of my "secret" places to buy cards but since I've shared this both as a collector and someone employed with a company that merchandises some of these products- I'll leave it there. However, I did see where someone said RiteAidwas bought out here in NC and VA (I believe you / they wrote it from a VA perspective). However Rite Aid does sell some cards; especially the repackaged products, and recently announced they are going out of business completely. If you have a store near you it would be worth it to go in and see for the cards and other things, and - if at off-peak times- it never hurts if they have anything in the back. Last week I was traveling through a random store like the ones listed in a non-work capacity and mentioned I was looking for sports cards and the gentleman asked if I had a minute and he went in the back and returned with random packs of football and basketball circa 2019/30 to present and said he could sell them for the same price as any current packs but that they wouldn't go back on the floor. Side note- Big box stores like Walmart and Target can't do this nor keep product in the back, this doesn't mean there aren't instances where employees have gone and illegally opened product and sold it (usually losing their jobs etc) but there truly are serious rules where store employees nor reps from other companies cannot unpack, stock, repackage... licensed trading cards for other companies. If it seems odd to mention, I can honestly say I frequently work around consumers who approach using various tactics to get early / special releases, extra product...even offers / attemps at elicit product sales or "exchanges" outside of the stores. Just saying, no product is carried to / from stores by my employees nor any others working for the larger distributors and merchandising firms at these big box retailers. Everything is sent direct to store.
Apologies as usual for my ADD taking me from one topic to a slightly unrelated one... so hopefully Something written helps at least one person get a deal, find hidden cards or save time and / or embarrassment in the future.
P.S. - My inquiry about the 2023 Topps Holiday Set Checklist on the other board is shorter and more direct. I'd calertainly appreciate if anyone has any polite advice or helpful responses / replies.
Cheers!
