No but as a kid in the 1970s a couple of years a neighborhood (well a neighborhood or two over) counselman, or senator or some such local public servant would hand out packs of cards. It was only 2 years maybe 3 and they would usually toss in 2 packs not just one.

I have done this for many years in addition to having a beer tub for the parents and a bonfire as well. The kids absolutely love it and many times prefer the cards over candy....especially the boys. Most of the time I put out doubles of mine from the Junk Wax era so I don't have to log them all. This year I will do the same and I think I will also get a couple of boxes of some less expensive stuff and include packs as well. We all have to foster this hobby as best we can to get young folks excited about collecting. Great stuff!

Best of all, the junk wax cards can also double as kindling for the bonfire.

Our local Costco has Pokemon 4card packs for halloween. Not a pokemon guy but seems like a neat idea. 1st supply didnt last long, hoping to grab a box when they restock.

I just got to large boxes of cards fur $60. I took all the Pokémon cards and made packs of 8. Did it last year also. Hot wheels, cards and candy. I would recommend to use current cards if handing out sports cards. At least the kids may recognize the players.
