Thought I’d try passing out some cards this year. We have a few kids in the neighborhood who seem to be in the right demographic so I made about 20 10-card packs of 2023 Topps Chrome baseball I plan to leave out along with the usual candy. Will make more packs if it runs low but we don’t usually get a whole bunch of kids coming around.

a few years ago, the last year my daughter participated in trunk or treat, i took some old 87s singles to pass out, kids eventually came running to the car. way more popular than i thought it would be.

I got a bag of the Halloween Pokemon cards from Costco a month ago. Figured I would give those out.

I always say I'm going to do this, and then forget until it's too late. I think I'll actually do it this year.
I did see those Pokemon packs and thought that was a creative idea! Topps should get on that too.

I've done this the last couple years, I get tons of kids since I live in a townhouse complex.
First year they were all gone (400-ish), probably because I left them out unsupervised lol, last year I actually handed them out along with candy and not as many were taken. This year I'm putting last years leftovers back out with the hopes they're all gone again.

I could probably buy the already complete sets cheaper somewhere else, but I like getting my maildays.

I haven't in the past but may see if I can package up some of my duplicates on the trade list and see how popular it is. There aren't a TON of kids in my neighborhood but it will be interesting!

I routinely get rid of my doubles this way, filling up team set bags with about 20-25 cards and handing them out. Some kids seem excited to get them, others leave with a WTF? expression (but everyone gets chocolate bars too).

Last year I handed out team bags of 15-20 mostly Twins cards - a mix of new and junk wax era. I packed about 30 bags and ran out halfway through the night - I was surprised how popular they were. One neighbor later told me her son traded them to his friends for Pokemon cards... oh well, at least they're getting to someone young who will enjoy them.
This year I have 50+ bags ready to go.

I've done it in the past, very popular. Made some bags for different sports. Let the kids pick and most took the cards over candy.

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.
