Hello all,
I have a copy of the 1988 Cloth Test Proof (paper) sheet. It looks exactly like the Cloth Test sheet, except it is make of a thin paper. I bought the entire sheet and have cut it up into individual cards. It has to be incredibly rare since I have never seen another copy. I have tried to add it to the TCDB, but my submissions were ignored. I would love to add pictures since I think they are very interesting cards. Has anyone else ever seen this? How can I get it added to the database?
Thank you for any and all feedback

It depends on how and where the sheet came from. Do you know the origins? If it is something nobody has ever seen and it can't be verified to be a real proof sheet from Topps, we won't add it. It has become way to common for people to sell stuff online claiming them to be promos, proofs, printing plates, etc. and it turned out to be something homemade with the intention of scamming people. I am not saying this is the case with you, but unless it can be proved that this came from Topps we will not add it.

Sounds like something that was a byproduct of the production process. And more than likely backdoored. Full sheets are not listable. https://www.tcdb.com/FAQ.cfm?ITEM=UncutSheets

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Thank you. This is helpful. I have no doubt that it is legitimate, but I'm sure it was backdoored.

These have been cataloged by Beckett and SCD for at least 20 years. These aren't a new discovery; I think they are just finally turning up on the market from whomever originally found them. They were probably backdoored, but we have also seen "floods" of obscure sets like the 1990 Topps TV team sets, 1985 MSA Subway discs, the 1990 Donruss Aqueous Test and the like, in the past 10 years. I think maybe some older hoarder dealers stocks are being liquidated or are being bought out and finally brought to market.
Still waiting on the big finds of 1989 Donruss/Leaf Blue Chips or 1990 Topps Mylar stickers to surface.

You say, "It looks exactly like the Cloth Test sheet, except it is make of a thin paper." All 1988 "Topps Cloth" cards I own are printed on a material that I can only liken to single-ply toilet paper. That includes one I have that is graded by SGC. Are yours printed on a thin textured paper-ish material or is it something else? They might just be the regular Topps Cloth cards (which is still a nice find).

I have both the cloth test sheet and this paper sheet it is very clearly different. No texture to the paper sheet. They are quite different.
