For the PC collectors out there, how do you consider cards of that player that aren’t specifically about them but feature them on the card? Would you consider a team card that shows that player somewhere on the card part of that PC? A couple random example that come to mind is an Oakland As team leaders card that is basically a team card but shows McGwire and Canseco posing together on the front. Another is a Cardinals team card that shows only Goldschmidt and Arenado on the front.

For me, if my PC is named or pictured on the card, I want it in my collection… but that’s me

Absolutely - I love cameos and confirmed appearances in team photos. The main thing for the cameos/team photos is I have to actually know they're on the card - so either you can read their name and/or number in the photo, or I have access to a copy of the team photo that's labeled with who is in it.
For one or two of my guys, I'm even collecting the checklists they're listed on. But my main two PCs aren't HOFers or anything like that and one finished well before junk wax started. So this is just a way to have even more cards to hunt for. If I was doing this with Larkin or Ripken or any other HOF-type guy who played awhile, I might get sick of trying to dig up every last appearance of them tagging out a baserunner on the back of a card, etc.

I personally don't care for team cards. I would prefer to see my players name featured. I also don't love cards with more than 1 player featured but that's just me

Early on, I wouldn't have considered team photos, but then I started running out of cards I wanted to collect (mostly due to $) or ran out of cards entirely and started collecting anything I could find featuring my players. That's sort of its own rabbit hole of useless stuff piling up in the house. Do I really need 6 Hensley Meulens jerseys? I'm trying very hard not to buy that old issue of Tuff Stuff on eBay right now with him on the cover.

For my John Olerud collection, I collect everything that he is listed or pictured on, except checklists.
But like others on this thread, I find myself reconsidering that position.

Anything/everything my guy. That said I’m not particularly fond of team cards, league leaders cards etc…but I do still collect them.

The reason I’m asking is because I’ve been trying to separate a smaller portion of my cards to be able to look through easier and more often. I’ve been thinking about combining all my cards of all stars together. But those random team cards, league leaders, checklist cards etc seem to throw me off.

I collect Ozzie Smith cards and I have a special section of my collection called "...and Ozzie". This contains all the cards I am able to find with Ozzie pictured in any way.
So... Yes!
