Hi,
I was going through my collection today in my garage, and I noticed I had a couple of baseball player coins. Does anyone here collect these kind of coins, and how do you usually store those? Do these also usually come in sets like cards do?
Thanks.

I have some of the 1964 Topps Coins and a bunch of the 87-90 ones plus a few of the more recent Archives ones. Ideally I would keep them in the 16 pocket sheets that I have but I am concerned about corrosion. My older coins aren't the greatest to begin with and I've seen much worse ones out there with noticeable rust and discoloring. For the time being I am storing them penny-sleeved in a plastic box with some desiccant packs along with some 1940's stamps that I have similar climate control concerns about. I Wish I lived in a desert sometimes haha. As far as I'm aware there were Topps Coins sets in '64, '71 and '87-'90. The 1971's seem to be more scarce than the rest. I know Pinnacle did coins also in the 90's along with cards that had cut outs to put the coins in. Recently Topps Archives has done coins as well in the blaster boxes. I'm sure there are others but those are the ones I've collected.

twfurey,
Thanks so much. Do you know if this site catalogues all these coins like they do the cards? I haven't seen them here yet. Would be interesting to look at that scarce 1971 set.

All of the Topps coins I mentioned will show up if you search for "topps coins" in the baseball category. They are allowed on the site because of how they were issued. I'm sure there are other brands and sports out there as well

I couldn't find this particular Derek Jeter commemorative coin in the database. This is the info I have on it:
- 75th Anniv Baseball HOF
- 2014 D 50C
- MLB Players
- Celebration Series
It's a graded coin by NGC, MS 70. The slab has a Jeter auto on it, but looks like a facsimile, and also a pic of Jeter swinging. The coin itself has a glove image on the front, and baseball image on the back.
I was trying to add it to my collection here, but couldn't find it in the database. Do you have any idea on this coin?

If the coins weren't distributed in packs or boxes by a card company, they aren't listable.

I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned off (details are in my profile). I have (finally) unearthed my 2 very large boxes of Star Company minor league sets and they are available (email for details).
