I will never have a Worcester Red Sox card, I will never go to a Worcester Red Sox game, and I will never drink Polar soda again.

The only team I'm a massive fan of is the Yankees, and even if they left NY I'm fairly certain I'd still be a Yankee fan.
Fan move all the time, why can't teams? I grew up in NY, which is why I'm a Yankee fan, but I've moved and now live closer to Boston. That doesn't mean I started liking the Red Sox. Still a fan of the pinstripes.

Yes, I still remember the images of the Mayflower moving trucks scurrying off under the cover of darkness.
I learned decades ago that players have no (or very little) allegiance to any particular team, they go where the money is. Teams have no (or very little) allegiance to cities, they go where the money is. Even the leagues (nfl,mlb,nba,etc), have little allegiance to anything except keeping that money rolling in. I don't blame them and I still enjoy watching a good game, but I don't have any allegiance to any team or player. Unless, of course, I have a financial interest in the outcome of a game or season. As I, also, go where the money is (or I hope it to be - LOL) regarding professional sports.

Because I don't live in Montreal, or even in Quebec, when they moved, I moved with them. I do understand the people who are from the city because that is a betrayal to their city (even if attendance didn't validate them staying...which I'm not saying is the reason they left Montreal. The attendance issues came after the problems for the most part.)
For me, I was following the team in the field and the players etc. I was still interested in Jose Vidro and Cabrera and Nick Johnson and Livan, etc sp when they went I did too. It makes it awkward at times (say Cooperstown) when there are Montreal city residents to wear my Nats and Expos stuff together but to me it's the same team.

Oh it reminds me (and that I also have to remind others) that I collect the Jets 2.0. So many people still call the current Jets the 2.0 but they are the 3.0. Look at this history (thanks Hockeydb)
Winnipeg Jets 1.0 -> Winnipeg Clubs -> Winnipeg Monarchs -> Calgary Wranglers -> Lethbridge Hurricanes
Winnipeg Jets 2.0 -> Phoenix Coyotes -> Arizone Coyotes -> ? xD
Atlanta Thrashers -> Winnipeg Jets 3.0

TCDB Collection Leaderboard spots: #1 Alexei Zhamnov #1 Shane Doan #1 Phoenix Coyotes #2 Arizona Coyotes

A chant that SD Padres fans use against LA Dodgers during home games at Petco Park is: "Beat LA, Beat LA, Beat LA".
So, when the SD chargers moved to LA, this same chant is now being used against them.
It's awkward, as an SD sports fan, rooting for the Padres, but still wanting to maybe continue to root for the Chargers. Essentially, you are happy to chant it in a Padres game, but unhappy when it is used against you in a Chargers game. It's a weird fan situation, do you know what I mean?
It's like yeah go Padres, beat LA!!! but then like oh Chargers, dang it... we are LA.
