I dont look at value of cards before expecting and sending.a proposal. If I see a card I want on someone's trade list that is a HOFer or a star card and all I have is commons for them. I will offer more cards for them then I get. But im usually a card for card trader. Maybe 2 for 1 if I really want to make a trade.

I never look at card values for trading. I just make sure I am sending an equal number of cards I would be receiving. I'm not adverse to sending a few more if a card I want is on the pricey side but for me I could care less about the value.

I sometimes look up values if I think the trade is skewed in MY favour. I don't particularly care if I've made a proposal when my trade partner gets more perceived value than I do, just want the cards that I want!

I don’t look up values either. As long as the trade is around the same number of cards and I’m not trading away autographed cards for two base cards it’s good. For anyone that has thousands of cards, looking up values for every card in trade is way too much work.

With traders I have traded with frequently I often don't even look at what they are offering just what they want from me.

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

Here's a new one. I get a trade offer of 7 cards each way. Usually a bit too small for a trade but it offered enough cards I would like as priority to still look to Accept. I pulled the cards asked for before Accepting and saw there was a duplicate entry so I sent a message asking if it was intentional - yes, this is what fair traders do - and he responded that no, he had meant to remove it before sending the offer. So, to keep the transaction accurate, I countered removing the duplicate entry. I did not add anything as he implied that it was just that, a duplicate and the rest of the trade was fine. As well, this member still owed me a card from another trade.
Later, I get the trade back which was Countered and had removed all but 2 of the cards I was to receive! His explanation, "By the prices on this site now my side is (6x$0.18=$1.48) and your side is ($1.90+$1.99)". The card that was duplicated was 18 cents; when he proposed the trade, he must have been satisfied with the offer but for one common card, he removed 5 others from his offer.
Make what you want of such a trade offer; I know what I did. And no, the error in the calculation in his reply is not my error.

Aside from needing to organize my collection and rethink my collection focus(es), one reason I've been on a months-long hiatus from trading is a seemingly increasing number of matches with members who place pricing over need in offers, profiles, or posts.
The ease of trading, mainly with potentially new partners, became more difficult to do so I quit trading and have been on a purchase spree instead. I believe I've established a good system of balancing trades without a price itemization and prefer trading with like-minded members. My plan is to reopen for trading early in September. We shall see how long I last.

I make lopsided trades all the time. There's a reason I have cards on my FT list, I don't want them, they hold no value to me. I ONLY care about what I want. They're are many traders on here that nitpick when it comes to prices. To me prices just don't mean much. If the word Beckett comes up I'll almost always decline.

Most of the cards I trade for and with are commons so I'm okay with most trades assuming I'm getting at least a few cards I actually want (I have a lot of "fillers" on my wish list to make larger trades possible since I have more doubles than I know what to do with).
Usually what I do is any card that I have that shows up with a value over $1, I'll put in a sleeve so I know when I pull it that it's a slightly more valuable card than a common. It makes it easier to look over trades when I start pulling the cards.
When proposing trades I'll try to make sure it had a couple higher end cards from my end if I'm requesting any from the other side. And I do my best trying to keep cards in the same decade whenever possible (which isn't always that easy to do if you and the other person don't have a ton of matches).

I try to look at pricing when I have an inkling that something I’m requesting or offering might have a value over a buck or so. It’s hard though, because the prices here are in no way reflective of current market value and less than hot cards are not easily priced. I try to do similar card for similar card, ie insert for insert, parallel for parallel etc. I’ve had some very generous trade partners and some others I have to be more generous to get what I want…it equals out over time, I feel. Plus, I’d rather get the cards I don’t have a personal interest in to those who do.
