Always wanted to try a few TTM's but was never sure on how to get started or what the proper etiquette was for each player. My only interest would be hockey and I'd probably just stick to my team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Something I'd like to look into for sure

I feel like I got super late to the party! I just started this year, and I feel like the number of players that are good at signing TTM is very low. but I'm still trying, and I've got a bit of success with the players I've tried.
Luckily I don't send any rare or expensive cards, in case I don't get my card back, I can easily replace it.

It definitely seems like more and more guys have stopped signing. Inknow in my case working on this 1991 Pacific set I'm pretty much down to guys that don't sign or haven’t signed in a long time. So my chase for the set has slowed down significantly but the chase doesn't stop.

Feel free to reach out if you want me to share how I do it. I've learned a lot since I started doing this.

I sent a football card to a retired player who was doing analyst work for a local News station. Never even got the card back.

I saw the best cards of my generation destroyed by creases, soft cornered hysterical edge wear, dragging themselves through the hobby shops at dawn looking for a top loader...

It happens. Can't tell ya how many cards I've lost. I've only had a handful of successes come from people's work.

Yeah, there's always the risk of that... and it happens to everyone. I've lost my share of cards. That's why I only send cards I won't fret over not getting back. Sometimes postal works steal from the envelopes on their way back as well.
