I have a trade partner who sent me two junk cards. I asked him to send me replacements with a stamp, and told him I’d return the cards. He declined. I want to leave an appropriate review, but fear he will retaliate and leave me a bad review - in spite of the fact I’ve done nothing wrong. Is there a means for dealing with this…? Thanks, Jeff

I have been in that position before. A Negative review would certainly warn future trade partners of this sort of behavior. I commonly check feedback on traders that I haven't traded with before. I am sure, at least I hope, that ADMIN could step in to prevent a retaliatory negative feedback on you. But, leaving no review would possibly put other traders in your predicament down the line. I believe I have left only 1 Bad Review, and that was based on the other members attitude and unwillingness to make an error on his part right.

I encourage you to leave the feedback you think it is worth. Yes, there is a possibility of retaliation but when I look at someone's feedback, I also go look at the feedback of the person posting it. THat usually says most of the story as to what is deserved and what is retaliatory.

After issues with retaliation via feedback and a multitude of users hesitate to leave negative feedback, I asked Admin to implement this New Feature, which he did in May 2021.
You can reply to any feedback you receive to tell your side of the story. Diligent traders will then be able to review both views and make their decision. This is to help combat the retaliatory feedback issue, as well as to encourage members to leave negative feedback (when warranted) with less worry about being retaliated against.

Again, I apologized for the oversight and stated that it wasn’t intentional. Like I said before I am happy to replace both cards, but I do want the cards back before sending out replacement cards. If sending you an unused stamp with the replacement cards makes this better then that’s what I will do. I will ask that you send the cards properly and don’t just throw them in an envelope.
Not that it’s going to make you feel better, but I do not intentionally send junk out…why, because this is the end result, disappointment, and I don’t want to put up with it any more than you do. What you don’t know was that I was willing to pull the Pham out of my complete 2021 Heritage set to send you as a replacement until I found a replacement for my set. In addition, I was going to spend time this weekend while at the Dallas card show trying to source you another De Los Santo card…why, because I don’t collect Bowman so I don’t have a set to pull this card from and I don’t trust eBay sellers to send me a card that doesn’t already have flaw that again won’t meet your expectation.
If this doesn’t work with you then I suggest we complete this transaction and move on agreeing not to trade with one another again.

I have to admit to being quite disappointed with the cards I received - well, two of them. The Pham card has a significant ding in the lower right corner... and the De Los Santos has two scratches in the surface - top center. It is not a card I would collect or send to someone else, so it is essentially garbage.

KJ, sincerely curious as to your thoughts. He said I should return the cards first. My feeling is I sent my cards. They weren’t damaged. I’m of the opinion I held up my end of the bargain. On the other hand, I received two VERY OBVIOUSLY damaged cards - a large ding on one card and two scratches at the top of on another. Impossible to miss. I feel it is HIS responsibility to make his error right… so I asked him to do so, and to send a stamp along to cover the cost of returning his cards to him. They’re junk and of no value, so I feel there’s no reason to return them… but if he wants them I’m happy to accommodate his request. Curious as to another perspective as to whether I somehow am viewing this the wrong way. TIA for sharing, Jeff

At this point, it looks like there was an agreement on the resolution.
Unfortunately, that was met with: "No, that’s not what I said. I’m done with you now."
From what I am seeing and reading, that is EXACTLY what was said.
It's a shame, it looked like it was going to be a peaceful resolution.

I'm like Dan. Maybe I should not say anything. BUT it sounds like two members with no feedback. Both saying you have to send the cards first because you have no feedback.
What is the problem? Just send at the same time. Not sure what the cards are worth but why make a big thing out of it. Just send the cards!!!
