I thought I'd share an intriguing story that took place just last night. I was doing a major clean-up and found a box of 1992 Upper Deck baseball cards tucked away in a closet. The box had been opened already, but it still had a handful of unopened packs.
Even though these cards are from the "junk wax" era, they gave me a nostalgic kick. The "Find the Williams" ad on the box and packs got me excited - the packs even said, "Find one of the 2,500 personally autographed Ted Williams cards."
With that card being so rare, I didn't really expect to find one in these packs. But, I thought it'd be fun to go through them anyway, just for old times' sake. And guess what? Something unexpected happened. I was opening my second pack, and there it was - the Ted Williams autographed card I thought I'd never find.
It blows my mind that this piece of baseball history had been just sitting in a pack for over thirty years. Finding it was seriously exciting - it goes to show there's still some thrill and mystery left in this hobby.
Just wanted to share this with you all. You never know - sometimes, the most unlikely finds might be just a pack away!
