I have 8 players that I have over 250 cards of. Total players I collect is right at 850 players as I'm a team collector. Out of the 850 players only 28 of them have a total of 250 or more cards. Some of the HOF players has less the 30 total cards and I have over 75% of some of them. So I'm with Dan that % does have something to do with it.

% would be a nice option. I'm trying to get all Lou Merloni (31) and Sean DePaula (28) cards. Getting there, but seeing that combined they don't break 60 total....

It's interesting- I'm a set collector with quite a few cards entered. But I only have one player so far over 250: Cal Ripken at 267.
But no social media accounts so I guess I'm out...

This is one nice thing about having my collections separated out - I am not sounting any cards for these players that "only in sets", these are the counts of the cards that are specifically added to my collection for these player's collections (other than Schmidt, Murphy, and the other guys who were with the Phillies at some point in the their careers - but even then, the Phillies cards are not from the sets either). Not sure where those numbers would go if I started counting the cards with the sets as well.

-- Dan -- Note: Please see my profile for more info regarding trading (section updated 10/25/2023). I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned off (details are in my profile). I have (finally) unearthed my 2 very large boxes of Star Company minor league sets and they are available (email for details).

If it was only 250, I'd probably be able to get over 100 baseball players if I added my baseball collection into the site.
The SCF Supercollector inclusion criteria (I think this is what a previous post was referring to) is pretty high, despite the amount of cards I have for Coyotes or Zhamnov, I wouldn't qualify to make it.

A lot of guys are mentioning % and possibly players with less than 250 cards. We definitely honor those players and collectors, they just don't go on the big board. We encourage sharing of those players, however.
I also used to do a monthly post called the "Featured Super Collector" which was open to everyone whether they're on the list or not. Collectors would fill out a short questionnaire and send some pics of their collection and then I would do a write up for them. Haven't done it in a while though because it's hard to get volunteers. People are either too busy or too lazy to answer the questions. Lol

I consider myself a Super Collector of Evan Longoria. Currently have 4,658 unique Longoria cards logged in to TCDB, but truth be told, the number is closer to 5K as there are many that are not listed on this site, and many that I've not yet been able to scan in.
By my account, I have 85% of all non 1/1 Longoria cards from years 2006 thru 2021. I have 282 1/1 Longo cards. I've just branched out to the year 2022 as far as collecting goes.

I am working on a Super Collection of Super Collections. Currently I am the #1 collector on TCDB for the following and each has a reason behind it.
Similar name to mine (Andrew Thomas)
- Andres Thomas Super Collector (#1)
- Andy Thomas Super Collector (#1)
Born in my hometown of Bellingham, Washington
- Clarence "Cuddles" Marshall Super Collector (#T1)
- Roger Repoz Super Collector (#1)
1989 Topps Legend
- Steve Searcy Super Collector (#1)
I also have a collection going of any 1989 Topps related cards and reprints throughout the years that I have been working on. That one is a bit harder to track to be able to compare against others, but I have quite a few at this point.
I am part of Super Collectors Unite with my Ozzie Smith collection (411 unique) and it is fun to see other people as maniacal as I am in trying to track down specific cards! (even though the ones that I am looking for are no name common minor league cards, instead of crazy expensive 1/1)
