FWIW, an interesting counter to the Terry issue. Working on lists of every MLB All-Star game roster, and for the most part going back to 1959, a Topps card of the player with the team representing can be found within a year or two of the ASG selection.
There are few oddball stragglers like Maury Wills, Matt Wieters and early Jason Varitek, and just for the heck of it I’ve used some Post Cards for 1960s transactions where Topps has them representing a different team, and “post retirement” issues for ASG selections in final seasons.
But in building the 2021 list, I found that Rays pitcher, Andrew Kittredge has 17 cards on this site, all but 10 2022 Topps 206 ultra rare variants with no images are minor league team sets from 2012-2018!
And he’s been, what looks like a spare pen guy with the Rays since 2017, but is starting 2023 on the IL.
FWIW, I’m using a 2018 Durham Bulls card in that 2021 All-Stars list, patiently waiting him to get issued a card in a Rays uni!
I guess that is to say, there still are those AAAA type players that are veterans of their organizations, and All-Stars even (injury replacement selection) that still linger in the double digits of trading card company products with their likeness on them! ;)
