Just curious, how long do people normally wait on an agreed to trade before leaving negative feedback.

I have a trade that was agreed to and accepted about 2 weeks ago.  Since then, I immediately sent out my side of it, but the trade partner hasn't done anything.  No communication, no change in status, etc..  I've sent courtesy messages asking about status, but nothing has changed.  Given the time is negative feedback at this point premature?

I'm curious. How many trades has the other member made and what is their positive feedback percentage?

Have they logged on to the site since then?

they've made about 125 trades.  I've actually made a handful of trades with them.  Not terribly smooth but ended just fine.  Their rating is around 95% positive, but there have been a handful of negative feedbacks lately for the same issues.

I have always said if you are having a negative trade experience than leave negative feedback.

People seem to think that if someone eventually comes through, even after mucking you around for weeks and not communicating then you should still give positive feedback.

I would find that level of communication extremely frustrating and would not consider that a positive experience, but, everyone's milage will vary.

That's a red flag of me. 95% is a poor rating, no matter the sample size. Always check the last time they've logged in, how often they have competed trades, and their feedback. If you see multiple negatives for the same issue, it's best to stay away.

I factor in all the data in my decision. With 125 trades complete I cut some slack due to them having a track record. They could just be busy and not keeping up on the record keeping. They could be ill, we have lost too many members lately. This question is more of a personal choice. I personally would be willing to wait about a month. I would send the owner one more message and let them know that if you don't receive the cards or a response by March 1 you will leave negative feedback and mark the trade as problem.

For me personally after 2 weeks (with sending messages with no replies) I start to get worried.   At 3 weeks I will message them That I will be giving them negative feedback in the next week or so.   It is if they are logging in every day or so.     Over the years I have gotten cards and the transaction still show they do not send them or that they received any.

That is one thing I do not understand.   NOT replying to offers or messages.!!!  Sorry but I'm seeing more and more members not replying to messages.

Sounds like you are talking about ShowStorm.  I also have a trade pending with him (I initiated it in early January when his rating was still 100%).  I texted him last week (he lists his phone # on his profile page), and it sounds like he is struggling to keep up with his trades, but he did respond there (didn’t respond on messages here). You may want to try that more direct channel of communication.

On a similar but different topic, how long do some of you let trade offers stay open before you withdraw them?  I've had a couple that I've sent to users, who appear relatively active, but just appear to be ignoring them.  I know they don't hurt anything being left proposed.  Similarly, if i want to block a user who i know doesn't respond to offers, does them also prevent them from showing up as a match in the trade matching report?
