I have a trade in progress with user Michael Meyer. I send the cards out on 1/28 and by 1/30 he was already asking where his cards are with a message that just said “I have not received my cards.” I received his on 1/30 because he send bubble mailer with tracking and I sent PWE. I sent him several messages about what PWE is and how to pack them and told him to search the forums if he was interested as he was new to trading on here.
He has been messaging me regularly asking where his cards are because I already received the one he sent. I explained that PWE can take anywhere from a week to months and that USPS is a crap shoot in regard to shipping times. He’s now accusing me of lying and not sending his cards because he has received other trades that happened after mine. As you can see it’s only been a couple of weeks.
Can I get some other traders to post here that this is fairly normal so I can send him a link to this thread?

I wouldn't call a months-long wait normal (although it can happen). But yeah, a few weeks isn't crazy at all.

His profile is new, so he's yet to get a full experience with the trading process on this site. Seems he has logged only 1 trade as complete so far.
Yes, he should be patient; I've sent PWEs to traders who live one state away and had some take one month to be delivered. The PO has had its' issues of late, but they'll get to him.
Steve was my first trading partner on here, and has always been an honest one.

To preface, I'm 150+ trades deep in this. After about a month, I'd start worrying. This may not work for everyone, but I hand-carry everything I'm mailing out for trades to the post office and have them weigh, stamp, and mark it as Non-Machinable. I always get a receipt. If there ever is a problem, I either photograph or scan the receipt and send it. "Just a heads-up...it's not my fault. Please keep me posted."

Yeah it’s not the norm but it happens. I was just trying to explain that it’s in the postal service’s hands at this point.

Out of my roughly 1,100 trades I would say I’ve had 10-20 take a month or two but this guy doesn’t believe me that it can happen. Also it has only been 17 days at this point.

The advice of “After about a month, I'd start worrying.” was meant for him. 😁

Steve,
Sorry you are having an issue. It's hobby and supposed fun.
I have gotten in to the habit of sending a pic of my PWE. It seems to put new trading partners at ease. I'll delete the pic from my dropbox after it is marked 'Package Received'.
You and I have traded before so you may remember.
Also, approx. a year ago I signed for a Stamps.com account. I love it. As a new customer, it even included a really nice scale. I haven't been to the post office in months.
My 2 Cents

michael also sent 1 card in between thick card board and tracking… a newbie..

PWEs can be quick, or they can take time, or they can bounce back due to postage and take more time. Either way, the new guy needs to be patient. Most of us here are not trying to rip anyone off. 875 positive comments and 100% positive feedback is as rock solid as one can get... so new guy, have a little faith in Steve. I've traded with him twice and he's aces in my book.
