Was Fruit Stripe gum the one with a Zebra as the mascot / logo?  If so, that gets my vote.  I loved that gum as a kid. 

Yes. They had the commercials with the zebra and I think the zebra was on the gum pack.

Purple! Purple is always the best flavour.

I would make a deal with Wrigley and have each of their flavors be included as kind of a parallel.  Maybe make some of them as chase variants, like Juicy Fruit, Big Red and Winterfresh.  The two most common would be spearmint and doublemint.  Then maybe have a new flavor as the "prize" box hit.  Could be fun actually.

Juicy fruit for a flat stick. A tiny pouch of grape Big League Chew would be rad.

Now that's a modern idea. And you know eventually PSA would start grading the sticks of gum

If I got to pick, it'd be bubblemint.

I didn't know O-Pee-Chee had orange - I'd be interested to try that out as well. (And I'd be perfectly happy with regular bubblegum. I'm not quite old enough to have bought packs with fresh gum inside. So I only know the dusty, crumbling stuff that you find in old packs today).

Also, the last time I remember having Fruit Stripe, it tasted good, but the flavor lasted all of 2 seconds.

You might have a point. There have been two or three votes for purple already.
