You realize that every price reported by sportlots to TCDB is an actual price of a SALE and not simply a "listed" price? Also, many of these sales go back quite a few years.

I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned off (details are in my profile). I have (finally) unearthed my 2 very large boxes of Star Company minor league sets and they are available (email for details).

I have purchased 100s of cards from Sportlots at .18 or .20 I checked out E-bay and IF I could find them, they are .99 So which is the true value of the card. As a buyer I like the .18 price but as a seller I would prefer the .99 price. At less now when I purchase something on Sportlots I do not have to add the price here.
As for auctions I have seen the same card go really high and the next auction of it there is just only one bid. So both auctions should be added. I have over paid when I was doing auctions.
A large number of cards listed here are never sold on E-Bay. So we just can not use E-Bay prices.
I'm not sure of who is doing this?
I also have a hunch that what they are actually doing is selling a complete set and then dividing the total price paid for it by the amount of cards
If you read the rules that is not allowed just like if you buy a box of 1000 cards and divide it.

I think if you're in the hobby long enough, you kind of develop a sense for when a trade just isn't good -- and most if not all on this site have that ability. Use your gut. Of course, when we start talking about high dollar cards, prices are necessary to make the trade even. I would NEVER go off of TCDB's prices for cards in trades, especially commons. Perhaps, maybe if there are a bunch of reported sales for that card it can be used in conjunction with some other source (i.e. ebay sale prices). But in general, use ebay's sold listings, with auctions being preferred over BINs. That will much more accurately reflect the market for higher valued cards than TCDB or Sportlots ever will.
This is not a potshot at TCDB's pricing system. Pricing cards objectively and keeping it updated for literally millions or billions of cards is never going to happen, realistically. I view TCDB's pricing system as a fun little feature that can help you very roughly approximate the value of your collection. Nothing more, nothing less. For commons, gut logic is more than enough. If a trader offers you 10 1989 Donruss commons for 10 2019 Topps commons, tell him/her that won't cut it.

right i totally understand it's against the rules - it's just suspicious that i have seen a few recent sets where every single card is priced at .18 or .20 and each one is priced by sportslots. I find it hard to believe that they have sold every single card of a 300+ card set at the exact same price regardless of player. It's fishy to me is all

Go to SportLots. Search for individual cards. I bet that you could build a 2022 Topps baseball base set for darn near $0.20 per base card.
I think you’re failing to understand that SportLots is a marketplace for selling individual cards. It isn’t a TCDB user. It isn’t a person. It’s a website. There’s several threads on here that talk about it.
The minimum listing price on SportLots is $0.20. It used to be $0.18 until a few months ago. These sale prices are correct. They aren’t against the rules. They aren’t incorrect. They aren’t suspicious.
Users sell cards on SportLots, many commons for $0.20. Those prices are reflected here where data is available

Nec Aspera Terrent I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Retail is allowed, which would include your online store. And I do believe I read somewhere that there is code in place to "override" the sportlots prices if there are enough verified sales of less than 18/20 cents. Basically, the sportlots prices won't skew commons higher, if there were prices in place to begin with.

There appears to me that there is some type of an override as I have seen a lot of cards that the Med. Price looks odd when you look at all the prices that are entered.
I have purchased and put in prices from many sites, shows and card shops. A URL is asked for, but some purchased you do not get them.
As far as the rules I was talking about. It was buying bulk and dividing cost with number of cards.
If anyone really wants to see all the talk about pricing here, you just need to check out all of the other postings on this subject (pricing) as there have been many. There were many areas that was talked about. Sportlots is the only sales platform that has their prices linked to this database.
