hello all, so this is my 1st year participating in SS, and I am not sure how much in value to send my recipient...is everyone doing it by card, dollar amount, what parameters? I definitely don't wanna be Mr Cheapo, but I don't wanna go to far overboard, although I do really enjoy giving to folks, just looking for a middle ground, thanks in advance! -Jeff

Last year, a basis of $10 was used by particpating members. I believe that is what is used again this season. Hope this helps give you a range. I don't think it has to be exact, just the roundabout range (a little more or less, just somewhere close).

Send whatever your heart tells you to do. If you got somebody you really like, send them a bunch, LOL! The first year I did it I sent a blaster and some other stuff. 

Some people are HARD to find stuff for. Some are super easy. Finding out, then finding the perfect gift, is most of the fun. 

I mailed my gift out yesterday, hopefully the recipient likes it! 

How do we know who we are sending stuff to?

I would have preferred this stuff stay out of the forums,. and any questions directed as PMs to me. But, since they are out there now....

There is NO guideline for the Secret Santa gift other than to be thoughtful about your recipient. From my initial post:
"There will be no matching of collections.

You are expected to get something for another member, no matter what that member collects or what you collect.

Gifts should be thoughtful, and should hopefully match off with their want lists or what they collect. Have this in your profile or have a comprehensive want list yourself. I'm not going to set minimum or maximum values. Don't be a cheapskate, but don't go overboard. Last year we used the guideline of around a $10 value. Be thoughtful."

Please don't announce in the forums that you are participatuing or have sent for this. That kinda ruins the whole "Secret" part of "Secret Santa". As stated in the original message:
"Please do not post publicly that your package has been sent or that you have received it (there will be a separate thread created to handle the reveals)."

If you did not receive an email from me stating "Thanks for participating in this year's Secret Santa. You will be assigned a recipient and given their name and address no later than Tuesday, Nov. 22." within 24 hours of you sending me a message and then the message with the info on Monday, November 21, I did not get a message from you with the info needed. As stated in the original message:
"Subject: 2022 Secret Santa (please use this exact wording!)

In the body of the message: Your name and mailing address (please include your full name, because mail may not be delivered properly without it, if your name address is not complete, I will not include the entry)"

  After you sign up an address will be messaged to you, then you can look up the member to see what they collect.
