I just received a package from panini containing a redemption that frankly I had forgot about. Sadly they couldn't be bothered to send me the card that was actually redeemed, but it sparked a question that I found interesting. What is the longest length of time you've ever had to wait to receive a redemption? My record is 8 years 158 days.

You have me beat. I've only been waiting since December 31, 2016 at 0719 hrs. At least you give me hope.

How is it legal that they can make you wait patiently that long and no apologies or updates are issued. I’ve been waiting 3 months for a redemption card and I’ve already lost my patience. 😡

I waited about 3 years. Panini said the player still hadn't returned the cards or stickers with his autograph. After hounding them about it, they agreed to send me a replacement of similar value. I couldn't pick the specific card or player, but they let me pick the team, and I ended up with a real nice George Hill Pacers card that I like a whole lot more than I would have liked the player on the redemption. According to Panini, the players have no time limit for when they have to return the cards.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

The no time limit thing tells me Panini needs to dramatically reduce the number of items they are contracting the players to sign. That's something I've never really heard any players openly discuss, that whole MLBP side of the game where they get stuck signing tens of thousands of cards (or stickers) every year for different products. I'd love to hear that from the player's perspective.

Panini doesn't have employees, at least that I'm aware of.

Cards come from a smoke/pet/Subway-bread/patchouli free home.

I feel like that one is going to be hard to beat. I'm also a little surprised, as I feel like I remember Fleer trying to send out at least something to everyone with outstanding redemptions when they got bought out, so it seems like you unfortunately just missed the cut.
