I agree, You have to do this for eBay, why does anything have to change with Sportlots? After all those are the guidelines right?

My ebay store - Be sure to check it out! FOR SALE/TRADE: View my profile for details! If there's a certain player you want, ask me about them, I'll probably have a card of their's that I'm willing to trade but haven't marked on my FS/T list. For more specific info, visit profile or message me.

Actually, the guidelines say putting in the shipping is optional:
What constitutes a "Price"
- A price is:
- A price is the final sales price of a completed sale or auction of any individually sold card. **A user should ensure that they are looking at the completed sale of the exact card being priced. Sometimes cards can look identical to base cards in a picture or scan, but actually be parallels or variants that have vastly different prices (ie. Topps Tiffany, Foil Cards, Error cards, etc.)
- A price does not include postage that a buyer had to incur during the transaction. If a card has a sales price and shipping costs, the shipping cost can be entered into the shipping field.
Maybe that is something that is being looked into being added, or maybe that is too difficult to add. We'll just have to watch and see as this all plays out.

You should see a small increase in your collection soon. Sportlots raised their lowest accepted price to 20 cents. A 2 cent raise for all your base commons.
I do use sportlots as a guide for base set cards. With the volume of base set cards that they sale, I believe their prices are a good guide for set builders like me.

I also recently noticed and was thinking the same. Realistically, the trades I try to make are not based on the tidbit listed price but the card itself. Prices are for selling and more of a distraction. My favorite trades are trades that are made.

LOL!
But, most of us know that the calculated valuation shown of our Collection IS the fake news.
I was showing my wife how I track my cards on TCDB and she saw the valuations on the Collection page. Her eyes lit up! I just smiled.

Prices before and after this update, when looking at per-sport collection, hasn't mattered to me because there are so many cards I have in my collection that have no value on them, any amount shown isn't correct. Would be interesting to know what percentage of cards make up the value being shown.

As a numbers guy it interests me how many cards I have logged and based on what IS priced in TCDB how much my collection is valued. Knowing full well that this is not to be taken as gospel. With my collection having a very high percentage of "commons" this new process drastically affected my Total $. I watch my top priced cardboard like a hawk just to see how it fares so I was initially perplexed.
Tell you all what, even if this platform did not have any pricing associated with it, this would be my tool of choice when it comes to managing my collection.

I just looked at my collection and it dropped 10k over 9% this month alone. Just curious if the site can show us what cards dropped and increased for a month that would be nice.
But on the otherhand i dont care what ebay says, Beckett, sportslots tuff stuff say. I value my collection and if you want it you will pay big bucks to get it. Why because its mine and yiou want it. Hahahaha!!! ( being Facetious here)

I'm so behind on this discussion...I was seriously confused why so many cards were suddenly valued at 0.18. Even new cards, some prizm and optic, some SN versions etc that even with inflation would still sell for more than that just for being "Prizm" "Optic" or "Chrome". I am not commenting to argue nor negate anyone's work or thoughts- just forget to check these boards because usually these topics don't have a lot of "action".
Again- I don't expect a reply but am glad I can see any further posts now.
Happy Friday All!
Becky
