There is no automatic prices coming from Ebay, whatnot, COMC, Becket or many other places So there is no avearge prices.
Users of the site may add on sales on ebay or other places but it's just too much for the tcdb trader army to keep up with.

What is so annoying about them? $.18 is the lowest price that a card can be sold for on Sportlots. Essentially, if you see a card that is valued at $.18, it is almost always a common card, or close to it.

Tempt me with Tatis Jr or Bob Gibson...or REALLY rare Kansas State stuff.

No, it's truly annoying as it might sell there for .18 cents but it does not list other sales like this. We have to manualy enter them from ebay and other places. So it might sell for $1 to $2 on other platforms so it needs to have a average price. In my view prices need to be more listed but nobody has time to list all these other sales nor other APIs used that I'm aware of.
It looks bad for the hobby

Pricing is never going to be perfect so complaining accomplishes nothing. You are never going to see an API across all sites, eBay, COMC and Beckett would never allow that interface. What about Card Barrel and our buddy at baseballcardstore? What about the LCS or the card shows or other retail sites? If I entered the prices I get my vintage at, it would be skewed lower compared to the other site. Oh, what about the other auction sites that exist? Incremental improvements and I'd rather see the .18 for commons in here than Beckett or Ebay's minimums; more realistic.

Members have asked for prices from other sites to be auto added. He is doing that. At this time maybe Sportlots is the only site that he has gotten a deal done with. So the .18 will show up a lot. Each platform appears to have a min. amount cards can be offered for.
I think most of us like to see prices so we can feel conformable with our asking prices or trades so we do not rip off anyone or get ripped off. We also know what we will pay/sell cards for. A lot of us do the checking of prices now. We just would like the site to do it for us as like the trade matching is doing, so we do not have to look through a lot of lists to my our matches. Boy are we being lazy. So again we really need to thank Admin. I remember writing letters to companies out of state to by cards from.
Is it just me:
I have wondered why do a people needs to buy a card to put the price in. If I see a card on COMC for .25 that is the value that person wants and what I can buy it for. Is that not a true value of a card.
I have approx. 500 cards that I have not listed prices here as they were purchased from .01 to .35. I will need to check them out and see if the .18 ones was added as most were purchased form Sportlots.

The reality is that 18 cents is over rated if you are interested in the price of every one of your cards. I cant see the reason to complain about the difference between an 18 cent and a 1$ card. The people who want to know the price of every card are ignoring that one day thousands of their cards are going to landfill, shredding, freebie bags at children's hospitals or being sold for half a cent each or less. Everyone who has collected for more than a year knows that the common cards can be had for pennies. Just because you can find a card for 1$ online doesn't mean it is worth it to anyone except the one person (out of 7+ billion) who bought it. 18 cents is highly reasonable for any one common. Does it make you feel better if one card that used to average out at 18 cents suddenly is averaging out to 23 cents? I do not understand the need for that.

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

well the .18 cents is better than seeing a nickel on stuff but. still don't like it.
The other flip side is if it cost approximately. 30 cents per card to buy it. If people see a loss of instant capital with card values and see potential wrong prices it can do harm to hobby.

There's another piece to this. The primary purpose of the site is to document trading cards of all types, something it is succeeded wildly at thanks to the tools Admin have given us and the great members here. A pricing database is not its primary purpose. While a nice tool/reference/nice to have, it's not why this database exists. Other sites are making pricing its primary tool.

Rolling in Ebay would inflate the prices. Almost everything sells for 99 cents at the lowest on there these days.
