Here is what I've been doing. For whomever has traded with me, some have received cards with little slips like that one. I have been doing this for all the cards on my trade list and when someone requests the card that has one of these, I send it with the card. The QR code leads to the cards page here on TCDb. What do you guys think of this idea? I am thinking about doing this for some cards in my collection. And if you think it's stupid please fell free to tell me that . Thanks!

I feel like it's not necessary if you use the trade matcher. I can see it as a very kind gesture if the trade has been typed in manually. When cards come in for me, the first thing I do is open transactions and see what's there and what generous extras are thrown in...if any ;)

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

Initial thoughts:
- Recipient must have QR scanner (smartphone app or webcam app)
- Might be helpful for PIFs/cards not listed in trade
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Yeah these would be good for PIFs like you guys said. I was also think now about what is faster, scanning a QR code, or looking by up such card on here.

It's usually not a big effort to look up one or two freebies that were included with a trade. Something I have done before when I sent a lot of 'extras' with a trade is to create a second transaction with the the extras on my sent side and 'Thanks' on the recipient's side. After the person received the package (and got their suprize) I submitted the second transaction so the cards would automatically move from my trade list to their collection.

Do me no good as I do not have a QR scanner or cell phone. But I'm one of the few.

I do that with a lot of my large PIFs.

I have a droid cellphone but I have never used the QR codes or know how to use them. Don't really want to learn how to use them either.

Some people may like the idea. I'm an old buzzard who has never scanned one of these codes so it's not useful to me.

I have a QR scanner on my cell phone and just used it at a trail head on Sunday to grab the map. However, I don't use my phone to access TCDB (unless I'm on vacation, in which case, I wouldn't be opening mail), so for me, it too wouldn't be helpful. It's easy enough for me to go to a player page, type in the card number and find the card.

-- Dan -- Note: Please see my profile for more info regarding trading (section updated 10/25/2023). I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned off (details are in my profile). I have (finally) unearthed my 2 very large boxes of Star Company minor league sets and they are available (email for details).
