I am against expansion 100% due to lack of quality starting pitching (and the multitude of injuries in that sector)
seems like most teams havce a bullpen start every week, or at least a rotation of bringing up a minor league starter backed by a long releaf arm.
if expansion was forced upon us, I am for any of these options just to shake it up some. I would miss the Cardinals/Cubs playing often, but may make it more special if it were less often..

Not really, but it just seemed like it was missing from your post.

And what if the Marlins don't move to NOLA, but to Las Vegas, Nashville or Memphis, Portland or Vancouver or Buffalo? Same thing if the Rays make their move to Montreal or the expansion clubs are Charlotte and Indianapolis or Louisville or a city named above?
By the way, not sure about a team relocation to NOLA. Not that I don't wish them to have one, but they seem to have a hard time with keeping their Triple A team.
Also, I doubt that the MLB will expand in Tijuana right next to San Diego. Monterrey? It's more plausible, but I think that will rather try the way bigger Mexico City area before Monterrey. Anyway, I think that MLB will prefer to have U.S. cities as expansion markets before going further in Mexico or Canada.

I have heard this, but I'm not sure about the whole argument. If there are an abundance of top tier pitchers, then there would be complaints about not enough runs being scored, and therefore that the game isn't as exciting anymore.
If it were up to me, and there are viable markets, I say let it happen. Maybe there will be more time and money put into actual pitching development from the teams. Maybe I am off, but I feel like the teams now expect/look for top tier, MLB ready pitchers right from the draft, which need to be developed as little as possible, which isn't realistic in the vast majority of cases.

I originally had the A's moving to the NOLA. But then thought "I like the Marlins name!" And didn't see a Vegas Marlins as a good name.
Having some existing clubs move around the US should satisfy the US markets. A few years ago I remember Manfred talking about expansion into Mexico. They tried baseball in French Canada, why not Cascadia Canada this time. Having an MLB club in Mexico, can then officially bring thr Mexican minor league into Major League baseball's minor league umbrella as well as developing the game there. Also if the team is in Monterey rather than Tijuana, then they can be in my version of MLB's NL Central. Move the Diamondbacks back to the West, move the Astros and Royals around (which was one other posters worry)

glad to hear the news of A's stadium progress.
as for (my opinion about) pitching being thin, most of my perspective is not league wide statistics, but actually watching the game...I watch most of the game 4 or 5 times a week (Cardinals), and some of these games are almost 'thrown away' or 'non competitive' when there is that bullpen game, not to mention longer game with more pitching changes, carosel of relievers up/down from minors, all to cover the innings of a thin pitching staff.. Some of the thin pitching staff is the choice of the bad team being cheap with payroll, but some of the thinness is even on good teams that have lots of injuries.. The game is just very different on the days when there is the #2 or #3 starter pitching a solid 6 innings...

I think that we may see 5 or 6 teams added based on citys wanted baseball to come. But with the change of schedules happening next year where you are playing every team. Expanding to 4 divisions in each league makes more sense to where you can play longer series against divisonal teams and play everyone at least once.

Here's my crack at it:
NL East: Mets, Phillies, Pirates, [Brooklyn]
NL Central: Cubs, Cardinals, Reds, Brewers
NL South: Marlins, Braves, Nationals, D-Backs
NL West: Dodgers, Padres, Rockies, Giants
AL East: Yankees, Orioles, Red Sox, Blue Jays
AL Central: Tigers, Twins, White Sox, Guardians
AL West: Angels, Mariners, Athletics, [Las Vegas]
AL South: Astros, Rangers, Rays, Royals
Didn't the Dodgers, Giants, and Yankees all play in New York at the same time? If I were going to put an expansion team somewhere, I'd put it in the one market where I was sure I could draw a crowd...NY. Then, with the momentum of the Golden Knights and Raiders, I think LV could make a good case for the other expansion team, although baseball is a different animal. I don't know how it would jive with the Vegas lifestyle.
