I've been trying to trade for the 1977-1983 sets, but no-one can seem to come up with a value for these. Ebay sales are all over the place. I've seen the same card, same condition card, sell for .99 to 5.99.
Is it worth it to buy a one month subscription to a non-sport guide from the "B" site? Does anyone else use their pricing?
Thanks, Eric

I think these cards have a varied market so the sales are all over the place. Someone who may be a Star Wars fan might think $5 is cheap to pay for a collectable that they display along side other memorabelia. Those who trade cards as a hobby may say the card was only a $.10 card and the $5 is crazy. So you have actual sales that are verifiable but they may not represent the hobby card collector value. So haveing a price guide subscription won't take into account those actual sales. I would suggest not just looking at the sale price but click on it and look at the actual transactions. You may have 6 transactions that are in the $.25 range and one recent $5 transaction that is skewing the overall value.

Thanks for your input. I think I'm just going wait for people to offer me the cards in trades, rather than me asking. I can't really establish a value, so I'll rely (mostly) on thier knowledge. Of course, I'd rather trade for them as apposed to buying. At an average of a dollar per card, the 1977 set would cost me $330 to build. No thanks :)

A number of years ago I was selling singles online for over $1 each. When the 66 card sets sell for $50-$200 each I do not see $1-2 a card out of line.

I don't really don't mind spending the $1-2 per card but the grand total is a bit daunting.

Just FYI, I bought the monthly "B" update last year for a similiar purpose. It had no cards listed before 1991.

I have over 100 cards that you need what condition are you looking for? Mine are well loved & I wrote "Bo" on backs of most of the cards.
