A former US mailman pleaded guilty to stealing nearly 100 sports trading cards worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Paul Robinson, 26, of Richmond, Mo., copped to the crime in federal court Thursday, according to a press release.
What an unfortunate, but not altogether surprising, development. Things like this have probably been going on for some time now. I have visions of the Seinfeld "Junk Mail" episode.
I've recently had my first couple of experiences, both incoming and outgoing, with mail not arriving at its destination. Luckily the cards in my situations were minor cards, and easily substituted or replaced. I've also learned how to file "missing mail" reports, but nothing has come of those yet.
Hopefully the USPS can get their house cleaned up and find a way to protect the integrity of the mail service and the things we send through it.
