1989 Randy Johnson PSA 10s. I received the last card I needed for this set in the mail today. I'm bragging now. Took me 22 years. Every PSA 10 with all the PSA label variations. 24 cards. Downer. I thought I'd be excited. Now they just sit there. None of my friends are collectors.....so they don't get it.....Anyone had the same feelings.
Fritts.

Almost with every set I've ever built lol
The fun is in the pursuit but I'd recommend displaying them if you aren't already. Hiding them in a box compounds the feeling.

Congrats on the accomplishment. All PSA 10's would be a difficult task to accomplish for a certain player's cards for an entire season/year like that. Although your friends who aren't collectors don't get it, the members here at TCDB are collectors so we understand how momentous acquiring a dream can be. Would love to see a photo if you have one available of all of them together.

Nice! You had a goal and it took 22 years but it is complete! I for one can't wait to see a pic of them all laid out!
Congradulations!

Fritts, congratulations on accomplishing the goal. Very few of us have someone locally, much less within the same household, who we can share the love of our collections with. But we're here for you, man!
My wife comes into my office and sees stacks, and has commented on how much I've spent on cards with my allowance.
My kids stopped buying me cards from want lists many years ago - and it had only lasted maybe a couple of years anyway. Now half of them just add money to my PayPal account or give me clothes - luckily not ties since I don't dress up for work anymore since retiring.
Anyway, I'm happy for you. I understand the feeling, though. What now? Just enjoy looking at them. Reminisce. That's what they're for in my eyes.
(By the way glad you're back. You were missed those several months.)

Nicely done Fritts! Ah yes, The Thrill of the Chase, making Discoveries along The Journey of reaching for Your collecting goals. Plus then the initial excitement of getting that Final Card. Now enjoy the moments in the afterglow of attaining this goal and NEVER stop enjoying Your Cards or digging deep to assess Your next goal in Our wonderful Hobby . . .

Have a custom frame made to display them. You can find an example of the idea here...this one assumes the PSA cases are the same size:

Very nice accomplishment. It is great when you get all of a set/collection. I have to agree with you that while it is great, it is also a little sad. I finished my 1961 Topps baseball set a while ago and was actually sad that I wouldn't be still chasing the high numbers that are almost as tough as the 67 high numbers. I love chasing sets but it is indeed sad when you finish. I also agree with your comment about friends. Yesterday at a Super Bowl party I actually said to a group of friends. "I have great friends but none of you are card collectors." I am really glad I found this site and have made some nice friends already that are nice people and card collectors.
You could also do what I have done with my favorite Topps set, the 1972 baseball. I finished one set then started another and so on. I am now on #6. Every 72 Topps card I get is compared to first set 1 then 2 and so on and I upgrade as I can. Lots of fun, though PSA 10's are another matter.

Congrats on the 22-years-in-the-making achievement. Make sure you get them out to look at them occasionally — even if there is no-one else there to share them with. (I think most of us know that feeling!).

Hey Fritts,
I know the feeling. Here's what I've learned recently: nobody will think your stuff is as cool as you think it is. I set out 20 years ago to "complete" my record collection. I built it up to over 3000 pieces and then there was nothing left to add. It sat stagnant for 2 years and now I've decided to keep my top 300 and sell the rest one by one. The transaction is what makes it fun for me, I get to engage with people who have similar tastes and interests. I actually spend more time with my records now than when they were just sitting on the shelf. I'm not saying to sell your collection, maybe it's just time to set new goals. And yes, the pursuit is the exciting part!
