I am going through my 1992 Pro Set football cards, and the two series look completely different. For a long time I thought they were two different sets. Another set with somewhat different looking series is 1991 Donruss baseball, with the blue series 1 and green series 2. That blew my 10 year-old mind!
Any other sets like this that people can think of?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Sounds like a Users List to me.
Just big differences; as in design? Border/Scheme colors aren't much of a difference to me. Especially in this day with all the color parallels. Some of the minor differences in vintage sets that come to mind...
1969 Topps football. Series 1 full-bleed, Series 2 white bordered.

1968 Topps baseball. 1st & part of 2nd Series "course mesh"; rest of series "fine mesh".

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

It's not a "series" thing, but in 1995, across all 4 sports they produced, Fleer used a different design for each division within that sport's league. So each sport had 4 or 6 unique designs. They managed some truly awful cards that year.

Yeah, the '95 Fleer sets are certainly "unique". They've grown on me a bit. I think if I completed one of the sets and could look at it as a whole in a binder I might appreciate it more.

Ooh, good one, I don't have any of this set. The first series looks like the regular '93 baseball and football sets but you're right, the second series is very different.
