For a rookie card, $15.47 for my 1975 Topps #65 Drew Pearson RC. I have a personal limit on what I'll spend on any card at $20.00, but that's been exceeded a couple of times for baseball and once for basketball, I cannot recall ever paying over that for football.

I paid between $45 and $50 a few years ago for my Walter Payton rookie. I paid $70 for a complete 1981 Topps set just to get the Montana rookie. They were selling for just over $100 at the time.

Similar to BigEd I think the highest I've paid for a base card so far is $10sh last year for my 98 UD Manning. I paid 5 for the Moss. Usually for FB I try to buy complete sets which knocks down my needs for base single. Though I do have some 2000 SP'd sets (Donruss, Score, Upper Deck) that need completion thanks to a certain person. The high will go out the window if I try to complete some of the vintage sets I have partially completed (57, 59, 63 for example).

$25 for my G. Brett rookie just last year. I know that's gonna be exceeded cuz I still need '71 Bradshaw, '72 Staubach, '73 Schmidt & '74 Gervin. I always ask for ebay gift cards on B-day & xmas so I can get the biggies

$40 for Montana RC. I am going to a Card Show on 2/5, if I don't find a Walter Payton RC and a 1998 Topps Peyton Manning RC, then I will be going eBay. I offered $300 for a Walter last week and was countered back $425 for a PSA 5. I would have gladly paid the $300.

I know it's not football, but about 5 or so years ago I payed $12 and $8 for a 1988 Fleer Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman RC's. I'd more than likely be willing to spend more than that for a base RC given the right player though.

I don't think I have a dupe of the Donruss Jones but I do have some of the red parallel Sage, Gold Leaf, Prizm draft picks Chronicles etc nd am getting ready to sell again so if you think people would be interested on here before eBay I'd definitely sell those for less because I want to get back in the game easily and know they'll be going to "good homes" :) Most of my newer cards are listed on here but I haven't put for sale or trade yet because I've had someone upset when I didn't see a transaction proposal. That said- I'm not picking off thi post either- just read the first few comments and thought about missing the hobby too and I'd hate for someone to break a streak if I could help...although the Donruss RR is a more known card than some of the prizms and Chronicles (I've just been a fan of the Chronicles set since it debuted a few years ago)

If I remember correctly, I bought a pack of Upper Deck Football and got a Brett Favre Rookie Card in it. The rest of the pack was junk.
Even though this does not have to do with Football, my best purchase of a pack was a pack of 2007/08 Upper Deck Hockey Series 1 and pulling a Carey Price Young Guns Rookie Card from it. I said and have held to it, that that pack would be the last pack of cards I ever bought.

Most ever paid has to be a high grade Brady at this point, though Joe Montana RCs in PSA 10 were setting some big numbers early in 2021
