Things Beckett is good for:
- Partially correct checklists
Things Beckett is awful at:
- 100% correct checklists
- Pricing
- Grading and authentication

They've been hiring a lot of new peeps so someone obviously doesn't know this is just a regular 1990 Pro Set #2.
If Beckett is awful at pricing, where are the best resources for more accurate pricing?

Maybe it is just a IP/TTM signed card? They didn't certify the card, but the auto. That would also explain how to get three copies.
I also dislike Beckett, but there's no other decent pricing guide. There's Charlton, but it is a total joke. It is even worst than Beckett. To the best of my knowledge, the best is still the market value, the average price buyers are willing to pay, not a theorical book value.

Saw a job posting for Work from home card authenticator so I inquired about the requirements/job/equipment and the training provided. Wasnt a remote job and they said...show up and start grading cards...needless to say that was a blow to Becketts "authority" lol

Ugh. I've seen ads on their website for grading openings. I don't want some random person who doesn't know anything about cards determining anything about my collection.

There are no accurate sources, especially with the way things are moving right now. I have a fairly good sense of historical moving points (pre-pandemic) so I use that to judge where things could be. When I go to a show and the first thing the dealer whips out is a Beckett, I move along. Beckett isn't the authority, no one is, market conditions and willingness to pay....

This! Imo it can be used as an idea, not the be-all-end-all. I even detest making trades on here with people who use Beckett values. If I am super concerned with prices, I will look to places with real prices i.e. Sportlots or eBay usually.
At the end of the day, a card is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.
