Yes I think a lot of people who leave bad feedback are insecure and childish. Why not try to work it out as adults. Not all delays come from the collector themselves. If you are dead you aren't going to be able to finish your trade. Also delivery people sometimes go rogue and dump mail over a mountianside. 

I have a trade about 2 months old. I sent out my end. Only 2 cards. Their end is not marked as sent. I have messaged but no response. They have been on tcdb for 7 years but have not logged in since right around Thanksgiving. I was only receiving 1 card so its not a big loss but a response to my message would be nice. I just hope and pray that they are alright

You mention both ends of the trade are in Canada so it shouldn't be a border issue or even cost since it's all in the same country.

If you've reached out and see them showing as logging in but haven't gotten a response then really all you can do is leave negative feedback.  If the cards are valuable enough you might be able to submit a claim for mail fraud.  Not sure what the rules are in Canada for that.  Since you have the address where you sent the cards, I would think the local police could at least show up and ask a few questions.

Personally I wouldn't leave negative feedback unless it's a last resort.  You've given more than enough time and you said you tried to reach out to them multiple times.  Seems like you've taken all the reasonable steps that you could.

I would think that if someone did legit send out the cards and you reached out to them, they would at least respond back.  I had one member who had a small trade and it never showed up.  He and I messaged back and forth a few times about it.  Since it was a small trade, I was going to just write it off at that point since I do believe he honestly mailed it and it was the post office's fault.  He ended up sending a couple other cards to make up for it even though I said it was okay.

It's one thing to leave negative feedback without given the other person a chance to correct any problems you have but when you do try to communicate and they ignore and you see them logging in every day so you know they aren't dead... that's when negative is justified.

Agreed. I don't think it's 'childish' to leave negative feedback if it looks like the other person is willfully not communicating while logging in every day. I think it's important to give warning to other members on the website when dealing with certain members so that they don't get the same runaround. In this particular case I think at the very best it's a neutral feedback if you don't care so much about the cards that you never got. If you think you just got fleeced then it's a negative for sure, if only to save others from the hassle.

The tricky situation is when someone doesn't communicate, then bails on the site by not logging in, so you have no idea if something happened to them or if they just took the cards and ran. A neutral feedback would at least give people an idea of what happened so that, if the member returns to the site, they don't get to come back as if nothing happened.

As much as I would like to trust everyone here and keep things fun, I think it's important to work together as a community to try and make the trading aspect of the site as honest as possible by providing truthful feedback.

OP is in Manitoba, which is pretty much the middle province of Canada. So he won't have to drive ALL the way across

I would disagree with this.  I've never had to leave negative feedback, but if I were considering a trade, I would want to know about others' negative experiences.  That's partly what makes trading through this site work.  If no one left negative feedback, people would have no idea that they might be heading into a problem.
