Depends what you got. What's the sport? Baseball? Football? MMA?

The information you're sharing is ambiguous and will not result in getting the best advice. This site functions primarily off collections input into the database and it can connect you to others who have an interest in cards.

It depends on what you have and how many. If you have tons of singles that you want to sell individually you can consign them via COMC which would probably end up making you the most money, although it will take a very long time. If you need an immediate profit you can sell it all as a lot on eBay or something, especially if you have complete sets.

I had a co worker present me with a bunch of late 70-80-90s cards and ask the same question. Before taking them on i asked for pictures. In those pictures i was able to point out star wars, Garbage pail kids and others that are worth trying to sell and others that are not. I ended up making her close to $1000 with out ever taking ownership of cards.... She can do with what she wants on the rest of them, but i advised to donate or trash.

Craigslist or Facebook marketplace are options worth considering as well.

I agree, never trash. What you may find worthless might make a young kid new to the hobby's whole day.
Regarding best options to sell, as already pointed out it depends on what you have and the total number of cards. If you are talking about tens of thousands of cards and you really don't want to spend the time sorting and listing individual cards, you can try listing it as an entire collection but you will get far less then you would if you listed each card or even list them by sets. The eras of cards make a big difference as well. Late 80s and early 90s wont get you much but if you have cards from the 60s or 70s you may be sitting on some serious money. Even some 80s and 90s cards can get you some cash if they are key players. I would start by trying to catagorize as many as you can here and then post another message in the for sale forum mentioning you are willing to sell everything you listed plus whatever else you hadn't yet.

Agree recycling first if possible. i read where 70% of cardboard is not recycled for one reason or another. with >30% chance its just tossed, I would be worried about all the extra stuff on modern cards and the recylcer not taking them and just throwing them away. I would say donate first
