One of the things that makes TCDB such a great place is the caliber of collectors on the site. Being a member of this site for some years now I have grown very fond of the hobby talk that comes from what I call the old school collectors. The folks who enjoy ripping packs and building sets and trading for those last priceless gems, the commons. My hats off to you all for keeping that inner childhood innocence alive in the collecting hobby.
As the title of this thread suggest, this is about the Super Collector. The hobbiest that has a pin point focus on a team or particular player. The hobbiest that not only collects cards of there favorite team or player, but anything from Bobbleheads, to magazines, to beenies and beyond. Who are the Super Collector out there? Who do you Super Collect? What is your most oddball item of your Super Collection? What is your favorite piece in your Super Collection?
I am a Tony Gwynn Super Collector with a little more then 9,000 different pieces in my collection. My most oddball piece would have to be a drink coaster and my favorite piece is the 1984 Fleer card I got signed by Gwynn when I was 13, at a Braves game when the Padres came.

San Diego Padres fan here.
Besides trading cards, I also collect pocket schedules, lapel pins, ticket stubs, and the old San Diego Padres Magazine programs (all the way back to 1996).
I have a couple of other Padres memorabilia (mostly giveaways from games), but not enough to be called a "collection". My most special item is a sign from the old Jack Murphy / Qualcomm stadium that I got when they tore it down.

I can't say that I'm the superest of super collectors, but apart from Red Sox cards I like to get any yearbooks, scorecards and team pictures that I can find. I did buy a 2004 Red Sox team pin set the other day off of Ebay that I didn't really need, but given the year of the pin set, I figured it'd be fun to look at.

Doug Wilson for sure. I maniacally watch E-bay and other sites for anything cool of his besides cards. Game worn Hawks jersey is my prized possession.

Always looking for Blackhawk hockey, Notre Dame Football, White Sox and Bears Stuff. I have a plaque in my card room that says, "I could have been a millionaire but my mom threw out my baseball cards". How apropos!!! Collecting Chicago Blackhawks Hockey, Doug Wilson Hockey, Chicago Bears Older, Notre Dame Football in their college jerseys and Chicago White Sox.

I wouldn't say I super collect Twins and Mets but they are at the top of the list. I have a 1991 world series, (the best one,) official scorebook like the ones given away. I also have 2 Shea Stadium 1975 pocket schedules. Not really anything else though. Actually I have a glove from the Mets dominican team. Not used, just given from them.

Thanks - TwinKiller. (Luke)

I miss the Murph. Nothing like driving down from Pendleton on a whim, getting a $5 tix and sitting in the bleachers to enjoy a game. Or Opening Day 1995 against the Astros

I am definitely a major Matt Kenseth (NASCAR) collector. Super Collector is a term that could be debatable. I primarily collect his cards, but have acquired a large assortment of other items, such as knives, plates, posters, coasters, bobbleheads, diecast, books, and even an autographed green flag. Cards are my primary focus though, as I am trying to get as close to 100% as possible. I'm not sure how many items I actually have but recently acquired my 2,000th different card of him for the collection.
-------------------------------
Matt Kenseth card collection is nearing 50% with over 2300 different cards. Always looking for the missing remainders to get to 100% completion.
