Baseball: Braves and Pirates - Family Ties to each, but stronger ties to the Braves. Plus, I live in NC, where the Braves are in-market.
Football: Packers, Steelers, and Panthers - Strong family ties to the Packers and Steelers, and Panthers are the hometown team in Concord, NC (from where I live, just about 5-10 miles to the Cabarrus-Mecklenberg county line, where Concord changes to the "University City" Area of Charlotte)
Basketball: Bucks and Hornets - Family Ties to Bucks, and Hornets are hometown team.
NASCAR: Carl Edwards, Chase Elliott, Bill Elliott - Followed Carl since I started to follow NASCAR 10 or so years ago. Still heartbroken that he retired. As for the Elliotts, I started following Chase after Carl retired, and it's hard not to like a legend like "Million-Dollar Bill".
College: Clemson, UNC, Auburn, Wisconsin, Penn State - Family Ties to all colleges, Clemson and UNC are just the strongest.

I bet I-85 was VERY busy in the Concord area Sunday afternoon with the Panthers/Eagles game and the Charlotte NASCAR race ending not too far apart time-wise. PA fans travel well and seem to love to drive to NC for football games. I'm glad I didn't have tickets to either event. Getting home to Greensboro would have been a nightmare from the game or the race!

Yeah, just stayed home and watched both from the couch. I live just around the landfill from the track, so I can't venture out far. The best part is, I can hear when there is a restart, and with the TV delay, I know that the restart will be seen on TV 30 seconds later, so I can change the channel. The planes fly right over my house, too.

Cool! For those that don't understand that last sentence, he means the military fly-over planes (like the Blue Angels) that fly over the track at the end of the National Anthem. That would be cool to see from home! I watched the Panthers game from the couch and then watched my DVR recording of the race after that. That's REALLY cool that your TV delay is that close to real time. At the track, the radio delay is a full lap! I was at the first Roval race there and hated the radio delay. Instead of wearing earplugs or muffs, I take a pocket radio with me to races and use earbuds to listen to the MRN broadcast. At CMS, it was so far behind that I had no idea what unseen thing was happening until well after it happened. At the Martinsville track, I know from the radio before the TV tower even shows what happened to bring out a caution or other situations. Nothing really beats NASCAR races in person, but I'd rather watch the Roval race at home. As for football, I'd much rather watch it at home. It's much cheaper, you know what is going on all the time and you get a much better view of every play. Baseball is the opposite to me. I love watching baseball games in the stadiums. I just wish any MLB team was much closer to NC.

Most years the planes come from ESE-SE to NW, but one year they went E-W, directly over the house! I was outside at the time, trying to spot them, and suddenly I saw a big blue flash overhead, then about 5 seconds later a long, loud rumble. Definitely a cool experience!
I usually walk around the Fan Area on Friday or Saturday before the race, but this year I decided not to. Believe it or not, even that gets old after a while.
Also, I don't watch the NHRA, but that's even louder, especially at the 4-Wide Nationals! And its more sudden, a rumble out of nowhere, while in NASCAR you just start to hear them going around turn 4 and getting gradually louder.

I'm a St. Louis cardinals collector. I know it may look like I also collect the Oakland A's, but that is only because I have so many Mark McGwire cards.
That being said I am really more of a set collector who trades insterts/parallels for players and teams I don't l collect for Cardinals cards.
