The trading card tradition continues in 2021 Upper Deck National Hockey Card Day.
As the annual NHL set reaches its 12th year, collectors are likely very familiar with the popular promotion that is split by country.
Originally planned for May 1, the date was pushed back until the end of July.
2021 Upper Deck National Hockey Card Day Set Details
As supplies last, collectors in the United States and Canada can grab a free 2021 Upper Deck National Hockey Card Day pack in June. This is much later than normal but that is not surprising given all the delays associated with the pandemic.
Although both versions feature five cards per pack, the contents are different. The small base set for Canadians consists of players that were either born in Canada or play/played for a Canadian team. Likewise, the American edition offers those stars born in the USA or players that have appeared for a team based in the United States.
A key chase arrives with limited autographs that are randomly inserted into packs.
In addition, Rookie Moments cards act as a gift-with-purchase option. These are not in the promo packs and are instead earned by purchasing $10+ in Upper Deck products. Shipper boxes each include 100 NHCD packs and 50 Rookie Moments cards.
Upper Deck should also provide a full list of participating UD Certified Diamond Dealer stores, but it is always advised to check with the shop before you make the trip.
Estimated Release Date: July 24, 2021
Product Configuration: 5 cards per pack, 100 packs per shipper box
