I really don't understand people who don't respond to trade offers. What is so difficult about accepting or declining? I've got 8 offers out right now that are 2weeks old. 7 out of the 8 show the user logging in after the offer was sent - but no response. Personally, I see ignoring an offer and not providing a response as rude. It literally takes seconds to look at the offer and click 1 button at the bottom of the page. I don't even care if you include a reason or not, just respond. Why turn trades on if you are not even going to entertain them? If you have no intent of reviewing the trade offers then turn trading off. If you are interested but need time to review or look for the cards or think about it that its 100% acceptable. In those cases, a quick reply like 'Thanks for the offer. Give me a couple days to review' is all that is needed. It is very frustrating when trying to make deals and you have this situation. It's always bothered me but I've never said anything before because it was just a 1 off and I ignored it - but 7 offers in the last 2 weeks all currently pending and all users have logged in since my proposal. Come on folks - be decent. Take 30 seconcs and reply to the trade offer. Don't just let it sit there and ignore it.

Not suggesting this in yourself whatsoever. In actuality referring to myself on another platform, I currently have an offer out and have gotten no response. In the subsequent post that sparked my offer, the "LTTF'er" stated specifically what he was looking for. In my offer I had similar but not exactly what he wanted, but I made the offer anyway.
I feel part of my getting no response is the simple fact I didn't adhere to the stated needs he was looking for. I felt it couldn't hurt to send anyway but see it wasn't what he wanted. In my case I have no hard feelings and have moved on well down the line.
As I said, no clue as to suggesting this in you, just a reflection of my own personal experience. Hope all works out for you in the long run.

100% agree. I generally give folks a week, and if I see they've logged in, I send a message. Then if there's still no response, I just withdraw the offer and move on.

Bakerybum - you have said it all, everything that I think of those who could not be polite enough to respond to an offer. I know some will say that they have so many offers that they don't have time to respond to every one. I say Bu**s***! I get plenty of offers and do exactly as you suggested, respond either by Accepting, Declining (only those that are ridiculously lop-sided in the proposer's favour), or asking for a couple of days to catch up (I try to respond to the offers inthe order they come in). I have added some of these less than respectful and impolite members to my No Trade list because I see some of them asking for trades then simply don't respond when a fair trade is proposed. I know they are actively trading as they post about it and you can see their feedback. And it is not about cross-border trading hesitancy because I see them make trades with other Canadians. So to these I say, you could make me an offer and I would be polite enough to Decline but there is no chance in h*** that I would even entertain any offer they make. There are plenty of great traders on this site without needing to beg these a**es!

Agreed, it's aggravating also when you send a message asking if they're interested at all. I sent a couple of messages several days ago and so far no reply. I'm seriously thinking about making a no trade list. I understand giving a week, I'm guilty about answering within a few days. But after a week, unless their profile says something forget it. There's plenty of people who will want to trade out there.

Could be they want to pull the cards before accepting. In my case, if I know I'm not going to have time to pull the cards right away but I'm okay with the trade, I'll post a message back saying that I need time to pull the cards. That's saying people message though. I've had trade where the other side will accept, send cards, etc without any messages on the trade.
I don't mind waiting. I've had trades accepted after a week or two of just sitting there. I have a small table that I lay out the cards for any given trade on with the trade number on a small paper. If the table gets full then I'll go back and withdraw any older trades that haven't been accepted yet.

I get what you mean, the irony being is that I have seen people that don't reply to trades and msgs complain (in forums) about other people doing the same exact thing. Based on my limited experience, I can only assume because its not lopsided in thier favor so I simply move on. Not really on here, (it's only a couple of times on here) but on another site it seems like fair really means heavily lopsided in thier favor.

i know i am notorious for "overlooking" my transactions. This is why i just turned off trading.
I have a life outside of baseball cards.
I am divorced with 4 kids and work 2 jobs averaging 60-80 hours a week. My day job is an office job so sometimes i login on my downtime and catalog cards i recently acquired. sometimes i login while watching a break video to see what is in the set.
my for sale/for trade collection is currently 65k cards and that takes a minute to sort through the 15 or so boxes it's stored in.
I have also been re-organizing my main collection over the pandemic so when i do have cards out i'm not going to manage the collection and trades as i want to keep those separate.
When i do sit down to do trades (which i had been averaging 1 new request per day) i take the time to look at what i feel is fair value. Also i'm not going to blindly accept a trade without making sure i do have the cards requested. I cant tell you how frustrating that is to have to go back and "remove" cards that were traded that werent sent because the person trading no longer had that card offered. The trading system offers what is called a counter where you can modify trades before both parties accept.
I also look at user feedback and the user's profile before accepting a trade as well. there are some folks with serious negative feedback out there.
One last note. i did put in my profile that it takes me time to get to trades. I have been trying to remember to send notes that i am working on pulling cards or not. this last batch i sent out i had two trades withdrawn while pulling the 50 or so cards requested...that i now have to put back. So this rant did learn something in this thread that I do need to be better with communication on trades.

I agree with bakerybum's frustrations and sandyrusty's response.
I understand people have lives, but if you're not going to take the time to properly interact when someone sends a request or even a small note, then turn your trade options off!
There have been several users who are now blocked from me due to not replying at all to requests or even messages, taking over a week to respond with a totally different trade, or declining with no mention as to why. At least work with me if you want the cards I have in your list. Let me know what it is you're looking for, I'll try to work with you.

Sheepboy, you are not one of the problems (at least for me). If your profile page says that it may take a while to respond to a trade, then I accept that; I wold probably reach out to you via message adn ask about a possible trade before composing. In fact, I would probably sugest you build the trade when you have the time.
I agree with you ont he frustration of pulling cards only to find out thta the person no longer wants to do the trade. I also now suggest to all traders to accept the trade in principle, communicate as such, but to pull the cards before hitting the Accept button. It takes enough time to organize traders without having to put some back and havign to relist them.
To avoid the customs issue, putting th evalue of the package below $40 and as a gift, it should clear without charges. Cards coming to Canada have no duty on them.
