So, I advertised my cards on FB Marketplace as a place where true collectors could look to complete sets when missing those few remaining cards. I have had a few sales but this last one turned out to be the brother of a member here on TCDb. This individual I met has since joined TCDb after first contacting me and only yesterday when we met that he mentioned his brother was also on here and for much longer. The new member is dreaston, yes the brother of RonEaston. The story I got yesterday was that they collected as kids but later in life, Ron made off with the bulk of the cards leaving his brother only a small amount of cards.
Welcome aboard Dennis!

That's a pretty funny story Bruno.

What! His older brother must be quite the thief!
I specifically remember going card by card through the collection (mostly 1983 OPC baseball!) and dividing them up. My collection grew buying whole monster boxes for 5-10$ at a local store that didn't want most baseball.
Glad you got to meet up!

I feel like my defense is lacking...! Most of those cards were well abused! I wish I had our old Johnny Bench that literally went through the lawnmower! I sent an example to Joshua in a trade one time just for fun. We used to use those cards as ghost runners in our backyard baseball games. We never got them into our bike spokes, but everywhere else they likely went. I remember we lost a Robin Yount AllStar card from 83 somewhere in our basement. I always liked that card. The colours and the portrait were so cool. I think the Steve Rogers from that set was always my favorite because a) Expos! and b) the red shirt. Anyway, Dennis...If I ripped you off... I have thousands you can HAVE now.

Always looking for Blackhawk hockey, Notre Dame Football, White Sox and Bears Stuff. I have a plaque in my card room that says, "I could have been a millionaire but my mom threw out my baseball cards". How apropos!!! Collecting Chicago Blackhawks Hockey, Doug Wilson Hockey, Chicago Bears Older, Notre Dame Football in their college jerseys and Chicago White Sox.

Watch out for negative feedback and retaliation regarding trades from decades ago, or other past disputes!

Fun story, Ron! I remember giving away all my 1983 to my best friend when he moved away to a different state. They were well handled. 1983 cards got lots of abuse.
