So in an earlier post I mentioned that i placed 3 orders with these companies on the same day. The results are in.
COMC. Disaster!! Nothing yet. No shipping notice. ETD JULY....
Sportlots. Placed orders from 5 different sellers. 3 of 5 have arrived. No problems. Very fast and very efficient. Shipping charges were more than cost of cards though.
Baseballcardstore.ca Cards arrived today. perfect condition. fast shipping and only one shipping charge. bublemailer as well. And 2 extra Hawk cards that I didn't have and needed.
So in this buyers humble opinion baseballcardstore is the winner. Great shipping time, cards well packed and extras. Nicely done baseballcardstore.ca

I placed an order with baseballcardstore.ca late last week and look forward t meeting him and his wife Nancy if they do deliver to my door. I really think that this is a great new opportunity / resource to get many of those hard to acquire low priced cards. All we see more and more excellent reviews and he is an active member here on TCDb.

I enjoy a good bakeoff (or maybe more appropriately for a Hawks fan, a face off). Thanks for sharing the results. Very cool that the winning site has a TCDB connection too.

Another option I like, at least for baseball, is cardbarrel.com (formerly just commons) That's where I usually pick up my singles for my Brewers team sets.

I have used Sportlots in the past and always liked it. it can be troublesome finding that perfect combination of a seller who has enough cards you want to make the shipping worth it. Especially with some American shippers using $99.99 for shipping to deter international orders.
I have always wanted to try Baseballcardstore.ca but thier search results drives me insane. I don't have the patience for it. I wish it was text only and was in numerical order.

Some time back I posted the Pros and Cons (for me) on all the sites I have used over the last few years. It boils down to COMC has the most cards for me. Right now my request for shipment of 275 cards has been 3 months.and waiting with no replies.
I will use any/all site if I find cards I need at the right price.

Always use the Box option with Sportslots . Look for sellers that give discounts on Box shipping and youy don't feel the pain of paying shipping costs from multiple sellers as much.

Nah. The box option can be good for US to US sales, but to Canada, it is still way cheaper to have everything shipped straight to you. Sportlots claims that their rates are a gamechanger, but they're not. The target rather seems to create additional sales from Canadians and foreigners for the US sellers who don't want to ship out of the states. One will need to pay shipping from the sellers to the consolidation point in Wisconsin, then Sportlots will charge International Priority Mail and pre-bonded customs brokerage. International Priority is too expensive and there's no real need to customs brokerage, because 99% of the time, it is duty free. So, it is then still cheaper to have 2, 5, 10 sellers shipping first class directly to you. I guess that they can improve the system, because they seem to have lots of abandoned shipments they resold in bulk in their auctions last year. The real issue with Sportlots shipping costs is similar to Ebay. Some sellers are very honest and will charge close to the actual costs, but many are making up by charge $3.00, $4.00 or even $5.00 for shipping 3 or 4 cards in a $1.20 first class envelope. If the cards are not that rare, one can find a seller shipping for less, but it is not always possible.
