Can 2 be as bad as one? I've marveled at a few cards where I'm the only one that had interest in it or owned it (on here anyways) and then my brother in arms, or should I say arch nemesis??? puts it on his wantlist (lol hes the only one I've met that collects the same subset)

This Jerell Adams card. For the longest time I was the only one who had it on their wantlist. Since it was my last card to collect, I often checked to see if someone else put it on their lists--probably close to a year. No one ever did and at times I felt like the card was mocking me in some way, but I was able to get one last summer in a place I wasn't expecting. Currently, I'm still the only person who has it on one of their lists--probably will be the only one for a very long time.

is there an easy way to search your own collection for number of mentions?

It's actually super common on modern parallels and inserts, and vintage non-sports, the latter I suspect because people don't know they exist so don't know to look for them or add them to lists.
Every time I peruse the early nonsports stuff (pre Topps) I find something else I had no idea existed and now want. Sometimes it happens that I stumble across a card for sale I had no idea existed. I just got a card off eBay from a set I had never heard of, even though in my favorite category. Of course it was made in 1924, 60 years before I was born.
I only add cards to my wantlist when I am getting close to completing the set... thus the line in my signature. So there are many cards I want but aren't documented as I want them.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I would think this is pretty common due to the high volume of low numbered variations being puked out in this hobby now days. I'm sure it is clear by my choice of words that I'm not a huge fan of these serial numbered variation gimmicks. My point though is that the hobby is so saturated with these supposed rare cards that I don't think many chase most of them.

I haven't noticed any cases for me. I normally don't track this stat. For those that are the lone "owner" of some of these cards, if you are capable of adding scans to the database it would be nice to have those images added to the database.
