Stumbled across an ebay listing of a Mike Trout 2009 Bowman Sterling Auto and it brought back some bad memories...
What was a sale you look back on and makes you hate yourself? haha

In this current market? Definitely the entire 50-card set of the 1984-85 Star Court Kings with Jordan, Barkley and Akeem XRCs. Sold for $350 in June of last year. Timing is everything.

1 could eternally second guess things, ponder the what ifs (maybe i shouldn't have gone out with her etc) On the other hand paths that were chosen may have steered us clear of crimes, 19 and who knows what other detrimental obstacles, snakes etc.
Move forward positively, way back in the 90's i sold 3 gretzky rc and 5 messier rc for some low price i can't even remember except for the fact i needed to see/survive the next day. Even if i had crystal balls to see this far ahead to the insanity of todays markets , it still feels weird almost irresponsible that there is that kind of money tied up in cardboard when there are so many that could use those funds to survive kinda like i did way back. To each their way and that's what makes life!
Enjoy it and stay safe!!

For me it was selling the vast majority of my childhood collection (6,000 cards mostly from '67 to '72) back in 1983 for $350 so I could buy a nice SLR camera. Based on current values that collection would be worth more than $10K AND... AND... AND it was my childhood collection!
The camera ended up being a dog and ceased functioning properly within a couple of years.

Of the cards I've sold, I purposely never go back and look at other prices. I want to avoid the feeling of "woulda, shoulda, coulda" lol

I could probably buy the already complete sets cheaper somewhere else, but I like getting my maildays.

I'm currently telling myself to take the time to sell off a few items like my duplicate 1991 Michael Jordan SP1 and my Hoops Dollar Tree yellow parallel rookie. They are hot right now but will I act? I dunno?

For years I was trying to sell my 2001 Elite Drew Brees Aspirations RC /85. Even after he won the Super Bowl I couldn't even get $150 for it. I finally, reluctantly, sold it for around $75 several years ago on eBay. Now it would probably go for x10 that amount, and nowhere to go but up when he gets into Canton.

I regret trading my extra 1960 Topps Mickey Mantle card for.... I can't remember, but I think it was about $50 worth of cards in the late 80's.
On the flip side: When people find out I collect baseball cards they almost always ask me what my most valuable card is. I always reply that I have no idea since once I get a card for my collection I don't care what it's worth anymore. If it's in my collection, it's there for as long as I'm alive. My son will get to reap any monetary benefits if he chooses.

I reflect on cards I bought for 1 cent each as a kid
and 1964 back to 1952 I bought back in 80's
I have a 1952 Mantle that is all creased and I paid $300 for it. Looks like it went threw washing machine ringer. all Pre 1980 sets are in remote storage Safe.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards
