I appoligize for using this sub-forum for this but..... Any future trades I ship I think I need to ask exactly how the cards being shipped to me will be sent so I can match any half/arsed method instead of spending $3+ for safe shipping. Amazing it even got here with approx. 50% of an envelope (Zip +4)

I have not even opened them up to look, makes me feel cheated on the amount I paid for safe delivery vs. this

I'd be annoyed too, though you're right that talking over how each side will ship is a good idea. I wonder if it makes sense to put in a feature request for agreeing on shipping methods before being able to accept a trade so you don't run into a situation where you ship BMWT and someone uses half a PWE and no protection for the cards. Or you don't realize that you have to ship to a different country (and pay way more than you thought) because you didn't have the other person's address until it was too late.

It rather look to me like it got jammed in a postal machine. At least, the postal service was able to deliver it with a last name, a street and a zip code + 4. I am a bit surprised that they didn't use their transparent plastic bag "Please, excuse us. We have messed up. Blablabla."

Definitely sorting machine damage. It happened when the barcode was printed on the bottom of the envelope. PWE shouldnt be taken literally. Dont use the cheap envelopes you get at Dollar Tree. Being a former postal employee I know how roughly things can be treated so I use some thicker manila type envelopes with the cards in 9 slot sleeves. More than 12 cards and i send as a parcel. Better safe than sorry.

Was the package delivered in their plastic 'ziploc' bag? Was that much of the envelope missing? How did they know where to deliver?

Not in this case but I have seen plenty of the USPS PWE shipments that are clearly marked non-machinable with the additional postage that still show signs of sorting machine damage. I also witness 2 out of 10 times the Postal Employee just tossing a package into a hopper at ten to 15 feet away. "First Class" in servicre name only.
