Maybe it's my aging eyes, but I can't tell what the difference is between the 2005 Donruss Greats set and the 2005 Donruss Greats Silver HoloFoil parallel. I have had the Twins team set from the base set since 2005, and I have been trying to put together the Silver HoloFoil set. Today, I realized that my Silver HoloFoil cards I've accumulated look exactly the same as my base set.
Here are a couple of examples from the database. I used Alan Trammell since they weren't my own scans (which may or may not be erroneous scans).

2005 Donruss Greats Silver HoloFoil: 2005 Donruss Greats - Silver HoloFoil #2 Alan Trammell | Trading Card Database (tcdb.com)
Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you.

What Billy said. The holofoil version has a refractive foil look when you hold it up the light, whereas the base cards are just the silver finish.

Some of the scans in the base checklist look like holofoil, which is causing even more confusion. I'm assuming it's like 2007 Ultra where there's a flat silver finish and a multi-colored holofoil finish, so anything with the flat silver would be base and the brighter colored one is the Silver HoloFoil parallel.

Thanks for the help! After learning what I did from this forum, I pulled my seven Twins from the base set that I obtained in 2005. Then I compared them to the five "Silver HoloFoil" cards I have obtained over the years. Ironically, it seems that five of the seven of my "base set" are Silver HoloFoil cards, and all five of the "HoloFoil" cards I've purchased appear to be from the base set. As far as scans go, many scanners, includiing mine, don't seem to scan silver well. From looking at the two checklists, I think the scans are so confusing that it may not be possible to straighten out. But, you never know.
Thank you again all for the help!! I appreciate it.

The HoloFoil logos have a refractor glow at an angle. It's tough to pick up in a straight-on scan or picture. As far as I can tell, there are no other differences on the front or back. Here are my Mark Graces:

jgrace -- thanks so much! That scan of the Grace cards was a tremendous help to me and I was able to sort my Twins quite easily.
