I was progressing through the flood of offers nicely until this weekend. The ice storm in North Central NC hit hard and I was out of power for 31 hours from noon on Saturday to Sunday evening. But my internet was still down until this morning. Spectrum couldn't turn it back on until everyone between them and me got power back too. I was supposed to get 2 trades in the mail Tuesday morning but with no way to make and print the labels, they'll have to go out Wednesday morning. To everyone waiting to hear back from me, I'll get to you ASAP. However, the forecast for Thursday is over a quarter-inch of ice again and this could be much worse. If nobody hears from me for a few days, that would be why. If it looks like it will be a while, I have some people here that I can call or text to pass along info to post in this thread.
I have several PM's right now and most are from Saturday and Sunday. Once I get these 2 trades labeled for mailing, I'll check out all other messages. I also got 2 packages in today that need to be verified before marking received/completed. I'll try to wrap up as much as possible before the weather gets here. I just need some time!

I do have a kerosene heater for the basement and my main-floor stove runs on propane. So that helps keep the temps manageable. I also have oil lamps, safe candles and battery-powered lights and other electronics. I have many coolers for storing food/drink as well. These situations may not happen often here, but I try to stay prepared for them. I wasn't as prepared as usual for Saturday's ice but I managed well. I haven't had to deal with a power outage of more than a couple hours (from thunderstorms) since Hurricane Michael took out the power here for 3 days in 2018. Until this past weekend, the most-recent ice storm missed my house by several miles to the south. I got mostly sleet while my workplace got over half an inch of freezing rain. It was really bad south of my house, but I never even lost power. My workplace was running from a massive generator for several days after that one. I have a feeling that is what is coming in about 24-36 hours. I hope I am better prepared than I was Saturday. But it would still mean I have no online presence for days and that is the point of posting this thread. I have contacted everyone on this site and my other main card site to warn of possible connection issues for me. Preparation is key when you know it is coming!

Tomorrow is the only day we are not due to get anything falling out of the sky this week. Talking about another foot of snow on Thursday through Saturday. We got 18 inches just over a week ago, got 11 inches in December. We got three inches total during the winter of 19-20.
We got ice yesterday but not as bad as they were predicting, thankfully.
I hope you're safe and don't have any problems. It's rough down here, I can't remember the last time I've had to miss several days of work because of ice. I tried to go to work yesterday but couldn't even leave the driveway because I had no traction. Plus so many people ignored guidelines that the power companies had to shut off power in 4 hour shifts due to overloads. Thank God we are safe so far but there has been deaths. A 50 year old guy slipped on ice, hit his head and died. I hope everyone stays safe through this.
Stay safe bud, youguys are getting it worse than we are here in the middle of our great country. We are getting cold spells yes but the snow is way under normal. Wind has literally blown it into the treelines and ditches.
We're facing the same thing here in West Tennessee, so I know what you're talking about!
I was able to mail some trades yesterday that could be stamped and put into the mailbox for pickup, but I have two that have to go to the Post Office today...before the next winter storm hits here!
If North Carolina is anything like Tennessee, authorities stress staying home when it's like this.
It is an unusual time with everything that is going on right now, but everyone please stay safe. Sounds like some of you are getting worse weather than I am right now, but it looks like we are scheduled to start getting some of it from Thursday evening into the weekend.
