After only a couple of months I completed my first set, 1980 Topps, with the help of this site. The final card arrived today. (Ted Simmons). Thanks to everyone I traded with and to johnsongr who sent me the final card. It has been a fun couple of months opening up trades. Looking forward to many more. 1979 only has a few cards to go.

Congrats on the '80 Topps and honored to provide the last card. I have great childhood memories of building that set!

Congrats Birchjohn. 1979 & 1980 were the first 2 sets I had help completing here as well. Looking at your profile, the only 1978 card I have is the Eddie Murray so I'm interested in purchasing a starter set. Hit me up if you're looking to move some.

Congrats. Few things are more satisfying than completing an older set. Keep going! And don't forget revisit the completed set every 5 or 10 years. They get lonely.

Congratulations! I started collecting in 78. I remember the 80 Topps well. The Reggie was my favorite of the set.

80 has always been one of my favorite sets. Congrats on finishing it.
Looks like we have a few cards in common from each others needs and wants so I'll most likely be sending a trade offer soon. I think I saw some 78s we both had the other wanted. I've been working on the 70s era for a while now, focusing primarily on 71 but I'm down to the last handful of cards that's getting harder and harder to find.

Congratulations! In my opinion, sets are the way to go!

Welcome to set collecting! My first complete set was also the 1980 Topps. I'm only two team cardfs away from replacing all the ckecklists I checked off when I was a kid.
