I wish! I tried back in 1996 but my eyesight was not good enough, I could not figure out what was going on. It took my tv dying and putting it on my phone 5 inches from my face in HD that allowed it to click.

Since then I've been making up for lost time by thinking about, reading about, watching and collecting hockey on a daily basis. It will be a part of every day of my life going forward. I've already collected some 22,000 cards and over 3000 different people.

That's what I meant by taken over, but I am not complaining...I like it like that.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

O-Pee-Chee went out of business in 1996.

Upper Deck is a great set as well. It's released in two series, series 1 photos were taken last year but series 2 will have photos taken this year. Usually, not sure if this year will be messed up by the pandemic.

If you are brand new to the sport then I think MVP should be your best bet, for the simple reason that each card has a pronunciation guide on the back. Some of the NHL names are not pronounced how they are spelled. For instance Byfuglien is pronounced "Bufflin" although he retired and won't be in this year's set.

I started collecting hockey due to a thread on this very forum back in 2016. Now it's taken over for me. So be prepared in case it does it to you as well

Yes and no. Koreen sold them company but kept the name and brands it out to companies, currently upoerdeck

Ha, me too! Threads like this keep throwing me off what I had intended to collect. Excuse me, expanded my interests :). Not gonna complain, I have a nice little collection going now. OPC and UD are my main current focuses. Go to Kruk Cards on eBay and drool over ther 50s Parkhurst and Topps sets they are trying to sell....

Upper Deck..guaranteed one insert or Young Gun card in every pack...not very exicting though unless you get a big hit..
