BINGO! All the plastic is being used to make PPE so there is a shortage everywehere else now.

Plastic shortage plus a ton of new interest in the hobby is not helping with supplies.
To the previous question, I throw out a healthy number of penny sleeves from purchases or trades. I get plenty with number, stickers, or writing on them. Some are just old.
Biggest issue for me is the massive waste of toploaders because of people who STILL USE SCOTCH TAPE ON TOPLOADERS. Why send me a $100 card in a toploader you closed with scotch tape. I am never getting that adhesive completely off the toploader, so if the card is staying in a toploader I gotta get a new one that doesn't have adhesive stuck on it. Dumb. More people adopting painters tape instead would collectively save this hobby from a lot of waste.
I think they all went to sleeve up 2020 Panini Mosaic football. That is one of the most overproduced sets I've ever seen. Panini is laughing all the way to the bank on that one.
I have thousands. I usually throw them away when they get dusty. I don't use them for my collection. I use them only for trading. Willing to send them out to whoever wants some.
Even painters tape isn't perfect but it is miles better.

I usually use refrigerator tape. Obviously it's not as bad as scotch tape, but is it as good as painter's tape? I don't ever get cards that use it, and I'm the only one to use it. No one's ever commented on it, so I would assume it's all right, but I'm not sure.
Well, Painters Tape is designed to be put on walls and taken back off without leaving residue behind. As was mentioned above, it's not always perfect on toploaders, BUT I have quite a few toploaders that I could keep using "as is" once I took the painters tape off someone else used to hold it shut.
Also, keep in mind that Painters Tape and Masking Tape ARE NOT THE SAME THING. Close, but not the same. Masking tape is still far, far better than scotch tape, it just also can leave behind a bit of residue sometimes. It's still way easier to clean off than scotch tape.
Agreed with the Scotch tape on top loaders. Very frustrating, but I personally still keep them and reuse them.
A few months ago I bought a lot of top loaders at basically 10c a piece. Regretting it now as I'm noticing just how much space they take up. I also bought several two row shoeboxes. Still trying to figure out the best way to store my cards.
