Got to love it when things fall into place. The wife sends me out on Sunday to buy the groceries so she can clean the house, Superstore does not have what we need so decide to slip out to the big W as I need to go there anyway. While waiting for a perscription for my son I check out the fat pack wall and notice that the OPC are 50% off, I grab 50 bucks worth and go to leave and I notice that there are two fat packs of 15-16 UD S1 still there for 7.50 each. I figure what the hell and grab em. I open em up on Sunday and HOLLY HELL ...... Conner McDavid Rookie falls in my lap!!! Not only am I a huge hockey collector but an Oiler fan to boot. Sweetness is the card is going for $300 at my card shop. Not bad at all ...... luck was on my side. That one goes in the "keep" pile for sure!! =)

I think the selection at Walmarts is pretty much completely random. I live in southeastern Washington, the nearest hockey teams are Calgary and L.A., yet our Walmart carries more hockey than they do football (and in my hometown, you can't go more than 2 houses without seeing some form of Seahawks colors somewhere on the house). They barely have more baseball than hockey also. We don't have any basketball at all. Most stores in town don't carry basketball because of what happened with the Sonics, however, I get the feeling the person in charge of ordering the cards for our Walmart doesn't know enough about sports to have any clue what did happen with the Sonics, so I'm sure that has nothing to do with it there anyways. That is definitely a great pull though! The best I've managed from Walmart were the Auto's from boxes of SAGE HIT. Mostly a bunch of guys who didn't get drafted, but a few who have played sparingly (Theo Riddick) and one who actually has shown a lot of potential (Keenan Robinson).
