Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone (for us in the US) it has me thinking about Christmas right around the corner and then a new year. With a new year brings new goals for the hobby.
I've been thinking on some different ideas/goals for my hobby for 2021. I know one is definitely to move as many of my trade cards as possible. I'm sure the parents would be happy to see the non PC stuff move from their office :)
I'm curious what others goals are for 2021 in the hobby??

Putting away all of the cards I've received in trade. I have a bad habit of looking through them but not putting them in their final resting spot.

1) Putting away the cards I get in trades.
1a) I would like to complete a team set for a certain manufacturer ( i.e. all Phillies sets for the Score brand and hopefully moving on to another, like 1 of the Upper Deck sets. I would like to focus on companies who no longer produce baseball, as nothing new gets added , which will give me a clear vision on where I need to be.

That's a great idea on focusing on team runs of companies that don't produce now. I've been building Topps Twins and its always adding!
I agree on the putting cards away, I have that bad habit as well. Organizing is definitely a main focus in 2021, I have become much more organized this year with the extra time.

My first goal is to finish logging my entire collection to the database. After that, it will be time to trade! I want to build 9-card collections commemorating each of the Dodger's World Series championship seasons. So that will take some time trying to pick which cards/players that I want and then trying to acquire them all. I'm sure I'll get sucked into the 2021 Diamond Kings and Allen & Ginter releases as well. Those two brand/styles are far and away my favorites!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I remember reading about this idea in a thread aerlier this yer. I think that is an AWESOME idea! I wish you the most success with this.
My goals for 2021:
1) Move out cards from my trade list, especially ones with no matches. I might have to see if they can be donated anywhere, since I would feel bad recycling perfectly good cards.
2) Complete a few more sets. I have made progress completing some of my childhood sets, especially with the help of this generous community. To thos who have helped me, I say Thank you!
3) Relating to #s 1 and 2: Send out a few more PIFs, especially to a few people who match with my trade list, but my want list doesn't match back (I have a few ready to go out this week!)

My goal is to get my pack images to 1000 here on the Database. I'm currently at 931. It's not been progressing as much as it normally would because new stuff is just about impossible to find right now.
I have enough in my storage unit that I could knock it out in a day, if only my storage unit wasn't such a horribly unsorted mess. I did bring some home to do back in August but I've been so busy and focused on my model cars that I haven't done anything with them other than move them back and forth around the model boxes. Now that it's too cold to work on models I should make some progress, but the box I brought home doesn't have enough in it to get me to 1000, even if they were all needing scans. Some are probably up here already, I have not checked yet.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I currently only use this site as a checklist for my favorite team (a minor league team). It's a great tool to see the haves and wants. And sence I started here, it's been great discovering some items I never knew about. I have divided my checklist into affiliation years or I call eras. One goal for 2021 is to complete the two eras that are closest to being completed. A completed era, means that I've acquired an example of all the know issued cards for my favorite team. This includes Variations and Errors, all base and parallels, and AU with serial numbers of 100 or more. Smaller SN numbers are more expensive, those would have to wait till I become more wealthy, lol. A Second goal for 2021 would be to trade or sell more of the stuff I no longer want and turn that revenue back into my acquiring of cards for my favorite team.

I haven't even started to think about a 2021 goal yet! I don't think I did much with my 2020 goals due to unexpected things, mostly not related to the pandemic. I think my goal for the last half of this year should be completed by the end of 2020, or maybe early in January (adding all the cards on here from a massive acquisition in July). So I really have nowhere to go with goals in 2021 right now. Mostly, to start moving out some of these cards to the people that really want them in their own collections would be my focus. My goal every year is to add as many different cards to my personal collection as possible. I guess my main goal this coming year would be to merge the 3 separate collections into just one collection.
