I have a member that would like to purchase a card from me. I am in Canada and the buyer is in Germany. We have agreed on a price and it will be sent with tracked shipping. The money transaction will go through PayPal. My concern is that even though he's been a member for almost 2 years, he has no feedback at all. This transaction has all been done through messages here and not in the trade manager. The payment has not yet been made as he's waiting for me to send my PayPal info. Do I go forward with the sale? Is there anything that can go wrong? Look forward to any advice you can give. THANKS!

I would do it. I've mailed to every continent except South America (yes, including to Antarctica) . It's quite possible that he has no feedback because people aren't willing to deal with him because he's in Germany, or he may have no feedback because he's looking for stuff that isn't easily found. There are many possible reasons.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I would take the leap of faith, especially if the cost of the sale is not so large such that the risk isn't financially crippling. If the user doesn't trade, he won't have feedback through no fault of his own. Unless he provides, say, his Ebay account as proof that he's has bought and/or sold before (and thus has feedback), you'll have to trust that his word is good. Hopefully, with that trust and a completed deal as planned, you will have found a future customer as well.
As for me, when I had no feedback I had a few traders here willing to take a chance on me. I'm glad that they did and I hope to return the favor someday if a new user/trader wishes to take up a swap. With communication and site experience, I hope that your sale goes as well as it can!

sometimes you have to take a chace.. i bought a couple cards off of facebook groups where the other party lived in Germany and the other in Austrillia AND the cards weren't a nickel & dime material. transactions went through pay pal and all went well. Usually if you ask around about seller or check out sites (like ebay) you may see them there and get an idea of the kind of person they are.

Everybody needs a deal to start getting feedback! I'm dealing with a new member from Australia. No feedback on the site. I sent him some cards like I usually do with others, telling him to pay when they arrive safely. So just sitting back waiting on word of their arrival and payment. If all works, we have a new active member with feedback. If not, the feedback will encourage others not to make the same mistake! Admittedly it is a small deal so I don't lose much if an issue develops, but why not? I've only been burned once a long time ago.

Don't take Pay Pal friends and family as payment. If the card get lost, stolen or damaged, you'll be out of luck on the money. If the card does get lost stolen or damaged. You might be able to file a claim with Pay Pay. If not, and you have Pay Pal on a credit card. You can file a claim with your credit card company.

Not so, he stated he's getting tracking which includes insurance. Once he receives payment there's no PayPal refunding process. This is not an ebay sale.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Go for it, you have nothing to lose once money is received. I've sold cards to brand new members. As soon as the payment was received I shipped the card. It's not like a trade where you risk never receiving cards.

Thanks for the advice people! I did go forward with the sale and card is on it's way to Germany. The only unexpected thing was the tracked shipping. I got a quote from my local Post Office and was initially told $20 CAD but when I went back to mail it out the shipping was just over $30 CAD. Guess I'll take that hit as a learning experience. Just hope he gets the card in good time and shape.
